Shockingly Trump is FOS. This is web archive of the FAA site from 2019. Change the dates in the archive. For the entirety of the Trump presidency the FAA was advertising it.

I think you and I are in agreement that Trump is usually FOS.

It’s why I used the “allegedly” qualifier.

He said he was reversing it. But he says a lot of things….

He may be currently reversing it. That's not my point. He can't complain about a Biden policy that was also a policy under his administration. I mean he can, but he's an idiot for doing so. He'd be less of an idiot if he said "yea I didn't catch that and now I'm fixing it." But he's not capable of that

I showed you proof he failed. I don't know how he couldn't have changed it. He wouldn't need congress to change FAA leadership or messaging. I mean not in terms of their own messaging.

Well yea, the verbiage being present on the website would indicate 1 of 2 likely scenarios:

- He tried, and failed, to reverse it
- He lied about every trying to reverse it

Both seem plausible.

What would stop him from reversing it when he was POTUS? It would have totally within his power to stop it. They all report up to the chief executive. He didn't change it. So he is FOS

No idea? He got distracted by another shiny object?

I may have been conflating 2 different issues - the other being the change to the ATC test that Obama installed. Sounds like Trump may have tried to reverse that (I’ve asked Smokey to clarify in the other thread).

So my inaccuracy may have caused this.

Maybe we are both confused. My point is that the FAA was still actively promoting the need for DEI hires when Trump was POTUS for the entirety of his term. Based on that, him blaming this on DEI, is absurd.

Hindsight is 20/20 as they say. Last pandemic of the Covid magnitude was the flu in the early 1900’s. All leaders were searching for guidance from scientific “experts”. Lay folks had little to no way of vetting someone with Fouci’s experience and position. Looking back 2-3 years after we can criticize the scientists mistakes and debate if they were from incompetence or intentional for nefarious reasons but everyone else was just trying to figure this new deadly disease out and how to best avoid getting sick. When I need expertise to address problems that are outside of my experience, I typically turn to the folks who have a long history in that profession for guidance?
