Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Surprising loss by Kentucky to A&M. They really had the luck of the draw in the SEC scheduling and just flubbed one. That second half not that promising for them.
their sec schedule to start the season was SO easy. very good draw for them. i feel they’re gonna tack a good amount of loses on from here on out. they really haven’t played any good SEC teams yet besides vandy (imo)

Tonight’s game will be interesting to say the least, LSU’s top three players will all play 35+ minutes likely, and in the second half they will have to find extra gas in the tank to withstand the constant fresh players SC will keep bringing onto the court who have full gas tanks. This will likely show up most for LSU’s defense in the second half, as tired players will struggle on defense.

LSU is capable of shooting at a very high clip in the game for stretches, and they are really good on the boards, but that is all predicated on the top three players having some fuel left in the tank in the 4th, especially on defense. SC will roll 9-10 players through the lineup in the first 30 minutes of the game, LSU will play maybe 7 in that span with the top three playing almost all 30 minutes. LSU is obviously very talented and capable of the upset, but their big three have to find the extra fuel to find defense for 35+ minutes while in the game.

That is SC’s secret sauce, has been for the past many years. Rotate fresh players in every 4-5 minutes. And the bench players are just as capable as the starters. Their top two scorers come from the bench. LSU players who stay in all game have a lower energy level naturally, and have to face the new wave coming in that are all really good and capable of going off on you if you are playing tired defense.

Having said all that, I expect a tighter game than the line which is a 14 pt spread, because these two teams bring everything when they play each other. Final prediction, 79-71 SC. Edwards, Fulwiley and Tessa Johnson off the bench with full gas tanks should be the difference.

So it was written…..hopefully. Let’s see what Mulkey cooks up.

Considering LSU playing at SC, they have given a good effort. SC is a very beatable team compared to past years, but one must play an almost perfect game. I do love seeing Mulkey get a reality check, hoping we can give Dawn a reality check on Monday. 😎
The thing issss rebounding lol....we kno we can compete with them

LSU for the most part played well, They out rebounded SC by a fair margin and the foul calls seemed to favor SC. I think along with LSU foul problems SC made 10 or 11 more foul shots.
If we shoot anything like we did against Texas and prevent so many easy layups, we can beat SC. SC will probably handle our press pretty well which is a concern.

Rooster my man, you called the game like you are a time traveler and had already seen the game played....THe LSU players were fatigued in the late goings of the game, and even though they gave a gallant effort, it was all for naught.

Will the game Monday be a sellout? When is the last time a game was sold out at Thompson Boling for the Lady Vols? It wasn't a sell out the last time these two met in Knoxville. This game should always be a sellout... geez.

When they get a 26-9 edge on FTAs, yes. They will own the conference.
I'm so over the ref whining in every single game, ours and others. I thought the refs had one of their better games in this one and had absolutely nothing to do with the outcome. It's possible for one team to have a big edge in free throws and it still be correctly called.

SCs 11 blocks and 22 pts off turnovers, 31-2 bench pt advantage, plus higher fg % had alot more to do with it.

If I thought games were as highly "rigged" as some others seem to think I wouldn't watch. It's why I don't watch wrestling.
