'10 WA QB Garrett Grayson

Nah but i do think he's clearly the #2. If Jesse doesn't commit to us tomorrow then our recruitment of him is done no matter what the coaches say IMO.

Agree. I think when Kiffin was saying "no one comes off our board," he's not referring to Jesse as his decision to go to USC won't the worst of those we've considered. That distinction belongs to Heaps.

I'm sure we will still try to recruit Heaps, but I see no reason to believe he isn't 100% solid to BYU at this point.

I agree. He may not go off the board but we won't be as hard on him as we are now. Heaps hurt pretty bad. Wish we could have got him. If we lose Jesse we're Grayson/Newton or bust.

I know that's his religous preference and all, but it's a brand of football you have to grow up watching to appreciate.

It's not like the Trojans, Sooners, Vols, etc. Frankly, I'd rather watch the CFL. :)

I don't think so. I think they will continue to recruit Jesse. The first step will be hey go ahead and take an official. They will then try to find a way to get father out. Kiffin is going to recruit Jesse until the end.

They are working on Brunetti already.

After that no one knows from what I can tell what they are thinking. I really hope Grayson is on their board. I would put him ahead of Brunetti, clearly right know he is not though. I would guess Brunetti being a memphis recruit relates to this.

I don't think there is any info out there that lets us know where they have Grayson, Shreve, Mason, Baty and Newton. I think they really want to see them all play this year and study them further. Brunetti is a Tenn. kid which gave him priority. There is probably two more names or so on there list as well. I am pretty sure Manley is not nor Bray. I think when they were asked they did not even mention contact with Tennessee.

It is confirmed coaches are at least in contact to differing degrees with the list mentioned. If anyone knows another feel free to add on.

We will continue to recruit him just not as hard. i guess my point is i don't see him decommiting to USC i thats where he goes.

Yeah i forgot about Brunetti. Still think he's behind Grayson. Being in Tennessee Helps him a lot though.

There's a line in Ocean's 11 where George Clooney asks Julia Roberts if the other guy makes her laugh. Her reply is, "He doesn't make me cry."

You may think the MWC is bland... but I shed a lot less tears watching BYU get beat by a solid TCU team and a good Utah team than I did watching UT get beat by UCLA and Wyoming (whom BYU beat by over a combined 100 pts.)

If you want an all-time classic that ranks up there with 1991 in South Bend, watch the 2006 BYU vs Utah game (or 2007, heck just about any year).

“It depends on what offers I get, but probably not,” Grayson said. “I definitely want to wait and see what Tennessee does.”

He is willing to wait for us OMG this kid is awesome. And did you guys read the part about how his dad would want him to play in the south. Now compare that to our Scroggins situation.

I just wish the coaches would put him ahead of Brunetti and move on. Scroggins is clearly the best guy and they should pursue him until signing day but this kid would calm a lot of fans down about the Qb situation right now. I think he is better then Brunetti but who knows I am not an expert.

I have never seen the kid play (obvious). I have seen Brunetti play alot. My son said Barry was a nightmare to play against. I like brunetti better, but only because I have seen him in person and know what he can do.

I'm sure it's a matter of perspective, but there's no way the 2008 Vols are representative of Tennessee football.

And, yes, a team like Wyoming beats the Vols every hundred years or so. The 2008 season, a lack of championships, and the current state of the program are precisely why the second winningest coach in Vols football history was replaced.

I don't want to watch teams that play in conferences that consist of one or two meaningful games every year. I like to watch good games every weekend. Playing on par with the best one or twice a year does not compare to SEC football in any way, shape, or form.

Still, I have to tip my hat to the Utes for what they did to the Tide.

I think BYU and Utah should join the Pac 10. It seems they're ready. And if they did, that would shut critics like me up in a hurry.
