I know Kiffin isn't well liked around here, but honestly what Judkins did to him is exactly why this crap is stupid.

He had 1 P5 offer coming out of HS, Lane took a chance on him and made him a star. He jumps in the portal once for more money, then does it a second time this season. Now he's at Ohio St and OM was without a running back. There is no reason Judkins shouldn't have finished at Ole Miss.

Jonae Aidoo is another, he was developed here, worked his way up to being a Star. Now he's playing at Arkansas. This stuff is just dumb.

Thank you...
yes dear.
lol sorry guys.

But side note, why don’t we start crowdfunding on here strictly for the football program? VN has so many users and has easily been the best free fan message board for so long. I think the rest of the fan base that’s not on here would notice and contribute too. Would just have to get their attention on Twitter or somewhere.

College Football ought to set a standard going rate per position for NIL.

If you play QB this is the most you can receive.
If you play WR this is the most you can receive.

And so on. Makes kids pick the schools not the biggest bidders. Never will happen though.

Great idea! Go for it!

Fyi, I do give despite having degrees from other schools. Id say you carved yourself our a nice little niche here. Unfortunately, I'm done giving, for now. It shouldnt be incumbent on us to bear 100% of the burden. Time for some other fans to pitch in.

And frankly, I'm an Alum of East Tennessee State, twice. They also have athletics.

It could happen, but you would need an enforcement team that would enforce that equally. Leads back to under the table payment.

If true about Boo Carter this is what College Football is becoming. No loyalty to the University just caring about the name on the back.

Individuals can thank NIL and how great it is. Individuals worrying about Portal acquisitions when we can't even keep our own best players.
It’ll get a lot worse too.

I guess he wasnt worth paying, at least thats what the sunshine pumpers will say
I am honestly surprised Boo stayed/survived this long. Given his off field history and lack of respect for authority him jumping for NIL money should not be a surprise. The only negative reflection on our program should be that CJH took him to begin with.

NIL will still be there and will probably be more of the driver than any salary paid by the school.

Yes they should give in to his every demand. When he comes back next offseason and demands to triple his money again, they should do it no questions asked for fear of someone thinking they’re getting “stuffed in a locker”.

All that being said I hope he stays 😂

This would get challenged in court faster than a UGA player driving down a neighborhood street.

I think there will be a salary cap for the team not by position. That's true in the NFL now and would stand up in court. It wouldn't make a difference though because NIL would still be a thing and would be a far bigger enticement than what the salary would be. It would do nothing to fix this problem. Maybe multi-year contracts with penalties would help with the year to year shopping around.

Good for him. He most likely won’t go day 1 or 2, but he will definitely make a roster. Get the money as a RB when you can.
Which Sampson should do.
Absolutely, he would be foolish not to. I dont see him being a day 1 or 2 pick, but he definitely will make teams regret not picking him
