'10 CA QB Jesse Scroggins (USC Solid Verbal)

Which school will Scroggins verbally commit to tomorrow?

This team was written off after the 5-6 season as well. Won the SEC East the next year, so things can swing wildly from one year to the next...counting on this year or next years team to suck while USC breaks in a new QB isn't all that smart. For one, they're having to break in a new OC, just like we did with Clawson. Secondly, there's likely going to be a LOT of drop off for them this season, after losing so many guys to the NFL draft.
Wouldn't surprise me to see us have a better season than USC and for Rettig to be challenging Ginger for the starting spot next fall, while Scroggins warms the bench for the next 3yrs. If THAT is what he wants...so be it. At least he's only 20 min to his house. Don't know how being so close to home is going to get him to the league, but hey, he wants proximity over playing time

In the NFL, they're making 3-4 million to sit back and learn a system. In college, they're trying to get to that point ASAP.

We didn't win the SEC East after 2005's 5-6 season, we won the East in 2007. UF won in 2006 and also the NC.

It's starting to look like some pathetic romance movie. Here you have a very good looking girl new to a high school (Jesse Scroggins) and then two dudes competing for her. You have the BMOC (USC) who has all these other flings with other girls (Barkley, Corp, Mustain...whoever else) who sells his shallow and decieving but overwhelming charm at her and then you have the good, nice guy that everyone likes (UT) who's genuinly into her. I guess we have to wait for the ending on this though...

Yeah, this post has made me think he is going to USC, in the real life illogical life of high school athletes. It's dumb enough to just make sense. As long as I'm thinking USC, if he does happen to commit to UT, I'll be ecstatic.

Isn't his brother looking at being a linebacker? Let's just say (for S and Giggles) that Evan and his brother are both starting in the national title game (one at safety and one at linebacker) and they do a "Berry Sandwich" on Scroggins----Both of them get through the line and annihilate him!

In all honesty, I want Scroggins here. I pray he's all-Vol.

I have lived in Chattanooga since 1994, when GA was of no relevance and there seemed to be no GA fans. Then GA started winning games again in the 2000s and god those fans got so annoying so quick. Especially after that little run they had on us. All I heard about was how great GA was and how they will always own UT. I root against GA every game, no matter who they play.
