Assessment:

Trump has slight edge. Turn out will be the key along with the unknown of polling error.

I think it matters when assessing the media. If this were a story about Trump’s family, it would be the leading story of every broadcast. Similar to the way mainstream outlets are running with unsubstantiated anonymous claims that Trump said it didn’t take that much money to bury a Mexican (the only people willing to go on the record who were there say he did not say that).

In the RCP National Average her lead has dropped to 0.2 percent. Trends have been going against her so the Democrat panic is not surprising.

The national has dropped but she made up ground in every swing state except NC in the last 24-48 hours and the betting averages have moved slightly back her way. It’s not over by any standard.

Edit: It’s possible a Jeff leaning poll updated and moved the averages as I don’t track what changed to cause the numbers to move, I just watch the numbers. By the way, anyone seen @BowlBrother85 lately? I hope he’s ok.

I have to have faith that our democratic institutions are too strong and resilient to let one man overcome them. Trump came close on 1/6, but in a sense that prepared everyone now of what to watch out for if he were to win again and I imagine everyone, even Republicans in executive and legislative positions, will be on the alert for him grossly overreaching a proper exercise of Presidential power.

Vance is a bit of a wild card. I wish he had the stones to say that Pence did the right thing, and it worries me he won't just say that and move on. But hopefully if push came to shove (perhaps quite literally) he would stand up to Trump, as Pence did, and protect the republic.
