Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Most of the media that I've seen since Saturday are pushing the line: "Is Bama a fraud with Deboer?" Just go listen to Finebaum, Bama's resident boot-licker. I fear that that Bama win will not carry the water for us that you suspect. Hopefully it would.
Well finebum picked the gumps with a cigar in his mouth so he can suck it 8 ways to Sunday for all i care.... what a freakin douche.

Again, I don't trust the decision makers. But our resume is as good as or better than everyone in the SEC not named Georgia and maybe Texas (although that Michigan win is not going to be elite at the end of the season). LSU and A&M are in the mix, but I think ours is just as good.
The points were that (1) we need to win out to make it sure, because (2) the 10-2 possibility we envisioned at the beginning of the season is not the 10-2 we would be looking at now.

If you agree with that, there's little more to discuss. If you disagree with that, then there's still little more to discuss.

Guy at work came in and says well that was a race to see who could suck worse and Bama won. I respond why do you say that? His response was look at the number of penalties.

I did not have the heart to rub it in. He is not a fan of NIL. Says it is making players soft. He also did not like it when I told him that the only difference between then and now is that the payments are above the table. He refuses to accept that bama has always paid players.

I'm literally getting emotional watching that again.
Incoming thought is really nothing to do with what you said in this post...it just made me think about something that came to my mind when that play happened...

DCs ain't figured out 💩 about this offense...well other than the best you can hope for is that the QB misses wide open recievers all day if you do certain things, which is what happened against Okie, Arky, Florida and the first half of Alabama...they have gotten lucky that Nico ain't all there yet, and his OTs have issues, and his WRs sometimes drop the balls that are well thrown.

Could have easily hung 40+ on everybody we've played the last three weeks just by executing the plays that were there...the scheme ain't broke...we just have to execute better...the plays are still there.

That's how I've come to easily identify pure idiot know-it-all know-nothings...they open their dumb mouth and start spewing garbage about DCs figuring us out, or how the play calling sucks.

I was clarifying after you responded to my statement. So, as I said, I've always thought 10-2 in any fashion gets us there. There's little more to discuss.

I just wanted to share how freaking cool it was to be on vacation in PCB and see so much orange every day, even before the win on Saturday. Once I started noticing it I was looking for folks wearing other school colors and didn't see too much. Years past it was the other way around. Seen several dollars stapled on the wall that said Vols at the restaurant we ate at, and was only looking in the area we sat at.

I'm so dang happy for our fan base. With all the crap we have had to put up with for the last almost 20 years, we deserve the success. Proud of our school, players, and fan base. Folks ain't ready for us to have sustained success.
PCB is very UT friendly. Me and wifey consider that our "home beach".

*Dollar bills on the wall..... was you at Dusty's??? 🤔

Focusing on the what the media says will drive you to madness. Yes, it matters, because they're the ones who push the narratives that can shape the CFP's thinking, but I just can't be arsed to care much about what they say in the middle of the season. It'll work itself out. It was going to work itself out if we'd taken care of business against Carolina in 2022, too. Just keep doing your thing.

He was seeing ghosts starting in the 3rd quarter, he was constantly falling while catching and acting like he wanted absolutely no part of our dbs hitting him 🤣

They talked about this on Basilio. Beano said he thinks that was our gameplan. We’d cover Williams tight, and if he caught the ball, we’d beat the hell outta him. They kept targeting him and it eventually wore him down. You could see his body language. Same for Milroe, the hits and the noise got to him.

Nothing to really point to specifically, but it seems the narrative is Bama isn't good, not that UT is good. Gotta think if Bama won then the slobbering over this being a top win for them would be sickening.
There are too many gumps and gatas in high places of SEC power and within the media, for there not to be a narrative against the VOLS. The SEC kick off show panel Saturday consisted of 2 gatas and 3 bamars, counting Paul and an ex bama QB called our game. We need more TENNESSEE flavor or really just less rivals, in the media. The jabs towards the VOLS are ridiculous.

The defensive performance against Milroe had to provide some reason for optimism there.
I'll say this

Vandy is still Candy.

They just struggled mightily against Ball State who....just had to squeak out a nail biter against KENT STATE 37-35 the previous week.

Transitive property isn't everything, but you just need to show up and we do to Vandy what Neyland started.
