Wonder what he said to make the bama receiver push him?

Looked like simple trash talking to me.

One of the announcers said he should have gotten a penalty as well but I don’t agree.

I felt he definitely went over the top. The shoulder shrugs and vibrating helmet showed he was very animated. He is very lucky the penalty was only one way. Not just what he said the slap back too. He is a firey guy. I just hope he can bottle that up.

Nobody including the announcers heard what young Carter said, how could they call a penalty on him, for what, mean mugging? Looking aggressive? LOL.

In the first replay the bama guy shoved Boo in the face mask, Boo started mouthing about it and the bama guy shoved him again well after the whistle. The subsequent replays omitted the initial helmet shove and the announcers tried to sell it as equal reactions by both. I think the correct call was made IMO.

I think the reference was is to Boo retaliating. He threw a small punch that didn’t land.

He went over the top? How? What did he say? Oh that’s right, you don’t know. You’re just another “I’m the moral compass for all things.” Also, Boo didn’t slap him, in fact, replay shows he didn’t touch him.

It was a heat of the moment thing. Hopefully the coaches help Boo temper some of that emotion because if (and if is a meaningless word when it didn't happen) that penalty goes the other way, it drastically impacts the Vols and perhaps the ability to win the game. That kind of stuff has to be controlled to avoid turning a fantastic win into a devastating loss. It isn't about being the moral compass. It's about what can/cannot cost your team a huge and defining win for a potentially special season.

Lol ok You probably don't remember this because it predates you being a fan. In 2004 Johnathan Wade smacks Dallas Baker. Dallas Baker retaliates. Baked gets the unsportsmanlike which is the only reason Tennessee was able to get the ball and yardage to get Wilhoit in position to kick a 52 yard field goal to beat Florida.

Last night that unsportsmanlike penalty placed Alabama in an almost impossible position to convert. If was off setting penalties who knows if they extend the drive. The point is ask any coach if they want their players putting themselves in a spot that can bring on a 15 yard penalty. Regardless if he got flagged I can tell you the coaches have told him by now he was very lucky.

The only thing you are right about is I do not know what he said but I guarantee it was inviting him over for Thanksgiving. If you are suggesting never correct our players actions where they make a decision that can place the team in a precarious position then I sure hope your kids play for our rivals to enhance our chances of free yardage from flags.

Because he followed the Bama players after the play and got in his face and continued taunting. Can't do that.

It very well could have but I think that’s what make great players great. He got under the dudes skin, he got him to react and very negatively hurt the team. You could argue that trash talk nearly sealed the game. Put them in an unwinnable position.

Hats off to him. Hope to see him piss off a few more WRs during his time here.

It personally made him a favorite of mine. I might just order a Boo 👻 Carter jersey.
