2024 Presidential Race

You’re disenfranchising the people that you wrongly allege are “non-citizens” because they messed up a DMV form. Hopefully it gets through your head this time
But without verification there's no way to assure they are eligible to vote. It seems a follow up now to make sure the form gets corrected is better than being told once they show up in November. Sounds like a very small number relative to total registered voters

These "purges" have happened basically every year for as long as I remember. I even found an article about democrats complaining the same way in 2013.

It's largely a show from both sides- Rs trying to look like they're doing something, Ds complaining (as always) about something even they've done and escalating it into a clownshow.

It’s just a game. As a Virginia voter who has worked for both sides over the years I get frequent communications to check my registration from both sides as well as the current administration. You can do that easily online and early in person voting starts way before the registration deadline, so there are really no motivated voters missing out.

I'm fairly certain the registration deadline is also in early October, and anyone can also vote provisionally in the event of errors (which are very few)- then their ballot would actually be checked, and if they are a legal voter their vote would count.

I don’t think this is about eligibility as in which precinct people live in, they are marking citizens as non-citizens right before the election which would be a red flag to many reasonable people. Virginia has voter ID anyway

Nobody is being disenfranchised and if someone messed up the DMV form it should be corrected. Just as they are attempting to do with dead people on the voter rolls.

No it is best to clean up the roles. If a mistake occurs and a citizen is removed they can still vote by signing a verification statement.

Not sure how often they happen this late

I agree generally. The R argument is that the EO was (exactly) 90 days before the election in compliance with law, the D argument is that the enforcement of the EO happened less than 90 days before the election which isn't compliant with law. Arguing over a technicality to make it easier to vote (Democrat) for the thousand or two citizens who were wrongly purged from the rolls

EDIT: Apparently the National Voter Registration Act requires that purges be completed 90 days before an election, i.e. August 7, so not sure why Youngkin waited until the last possible day for his EO

The best thing I could say about Nash is he appears to constantly be yelling fire in a theater without a fire than complains when someone yells fire when there is a fire in the theater. 🥜🌰🥥

They also had until a week ago to re-register or correct any issues.

And they can still vote provisionally, just like anyone that misses the voter deadline.

It's nobody's fault but Democrats that these very clear, very favorable conditions for voting fairly are being hidden.

Yea, stuff like this allows democrat drones to use the word "disenfranchise" in articles.

Pete would be president if he weren't gay. He's so freaking good. It's a shame that America's prejudice holds him back.

Well, he couldn’t get out of the D primary, so maybe you should have that conversation with the Dems.

Come to think of it, now that the Dems don’t have a primary to select their candidates, they could have anointed Pete their candidate this time; wonder why they didn’t do that?

Because gay white men are lower on the victim hierarchy than "women of color".

Or they're marking them as citizenship not confirmed. That would be a requirement to being named as a citizen. Until then you're not truly a confirmed one.
