Vol uniform/helmet design discussion (merged)

It reminds me of some uniforms on a Bobby Petrino team. I hate the Louisville style "modern" look he gave the Arkansas uniforms.

To be honest, I never would have seen a power T in that uniform if you hadn't have pointed it out. As someone said earlier, it just looks too busy. The uniforms look great the way they are. No need to change.

That's not a policy, that's Rick Neuheisel and Pete Carroll agreeing to both losing a timeout in order to wear those jerseys. It was in violation of policy, but Neuheisel agreed to take a timeout at the beginning of the game to not allow an "unfair advantage" of having 1 extra TO

That rule was amended this off-season to allow teams to wear dark jerseys if both teams agree. Tennessee will be wearing Orange at Alabama and possibly at Ole Miss and Kentucky.

I realize there is a somewhat related thread regarding uniforms, but this is quite different in that it's not the much-maligned "What about Black Uniforms?" and such.

I'm a Graphic Designer by trade, and thought I'd take a shot of doing some mock ups of what I call the "Power T" jerseys...molding the "Power T" Logo with the jersey/ Upper Torso's natural T-shape. And I'd like to get some feedback to gauge whether or not to contact the AD and see if they might be interested in getting Adidas to make these.
I understand the need to maintain tradition, but I also would like to see our uniforms step into the 21st century. More and more teams are applying different designs to their uni's and I think some of them look better for it; some don't. Without trying to be as gimicky as Oregon, I figured a slight modification to the Jersey could still maintain a great deal of tradition, but with a subtle enhancement.
So, what do you ladies and gentlemen think?

Any reason why in your hours of work you didn't 1) pick a picture that didn't feature a player holding a big glowing green bowling ball or 2) edit the big glowing green bowling ball out?

Road Uni's (they never have looked as good as the home, IMHO, so bear that in mind):

Am i the only one who doesn't see a difference in these?

Edit: Guess not.

Took me a long time. Very subtle changes in black piping being present or not, and also various combinations of orange or white cuffs/collars.

The only one I might be able to get behind would be the top right one of the second set, no black piping, orange collar, white cuffs. But I also agree that in any kind of game action, it would simply look like white sides were added to the jersey.

Also, I happen to really like the jerseys the way they are. UT is one of the programs who has maintained a certain jersey style (with a one-off variance here and there being the exception) for a long time. It's a tradition and if you ask me, it falls under the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" concept.

Not to belittle the work done on these pictures. It's worth exploring the options, but my opinion is that a change is unnecessary and personally, I'd prefer it if they stuck with what they've got. It's very cool in a classic sort of way.

Not sure why, but I selected the non-black trim images, and they didn't load...thanks for the tip. Might not have noticed. It's edited now.

Some of these don't involve the Power T design, just showing some small variations of the current scheme, so some could see what that might look like

I dunno about everyone else, but I really like the current away jerseys (all-white, no orange pants; black outlines on the numbers). As far as home jerseys go, I like the last version in the set. But then again, I've always been a fan of the current jerseys.
