Watch,, it!! Health, exercise etc.

Aaaahhh...

I wish I had THAT kind of feedback! My watch and app have been pretty caustic during my week of Covid. Why no, you're correct, I haven't had any workouts, unless you want to count wobbling my way around the house.
COVID !???
Very sorry to hear that
I have bern AWOL much longer than usual

A pretty mild case overall. This time hardly any of the respiratory stuff, but a ton of muscle pain and fatigue and general pooped-out-ness. Then my husband caught it, which is scary (74 and not-great lungs), but he tested the moment he felt off, called the doc, and got on Paxlovid, and is almost symptom-free other than fatigue.

I was on Paxlovid too, and we kept wandering around the house making awful faces and sticking our tongues out, and there's not a damn thing you can do about the taste except know that it's gone once your five days of meds are up. Imagine the taste of accidentally biting into a prednisone tablet plus a metallic, ?brass? overlay. Toothpaste and mouthwash do nothing. It just wears off between doses. Ugh

How is your better half doing? I know you've been busy!

Only made it 30 minutes. No breeze and feels like temp was 103. I wussed out.

17 hours recovery and training readiness dropped to 53.

I know Noone gives not 1 rat turd about this but I gotta vent.

Compared to Samsung and I know from first hand experience, and Apple I only know from what I've read, Garmin flat out sucks on only 2 things. Vibration intensity and display.

I've accepted the reason as being because of battery life. Samsung and Apple can't even compete and both of these would suck up more battery.

I don't know about display but Vivio and Venu both have an intensity function for vibration and they have excellent battery life.

I don't see why they couldn't give me the option to tweak both like Samsung and Apple does. No way either or would make that much difference in battery.

You get into money like this watch cost and it's a crime it's not an option.

I feel better now.

Even more appreciative I have Garmin then. My phone is on silent and will forever stay that way except for while I’m charging the watch (rn specifically), but I can still hear my watch vibrate two rooms over. I have to mute group chats and whatnot at night because the Garmin vibration will wake me up from deep sleep.

I went to the game Saturday and between climbing to the upper part of the upper deck and doing roughly 86 air squats between getting up for the TDs and the lady that left nine times during the game to buy nine Pinot Grigios, plus not getting home till 1:15a, I pushed mine back to this evening. I’m still not looking forward to it

My phone is completely mute too. No sounds or vibration at all.

Your watch vibrating on a table or whatever is not the same as it vibrating on your wrist. It's just not, but you know that. As weak as this one is, when it vibrates on my desk while charging it sounds like it's going to chip the desk.

If it's enough for you on your wrist that's great, but if it's still too much wouldn't it be nice if it had a weak, medium and strong option? Garmin has that on 2 $400 watches and Samsung has it on all theirs from $179-$679.

Anyway, I thought I was over it. Leave me alone about it. Lol. I'm joking.

I just did 2 miles and couldn't catch a breath. Sweat coming through my head band and down in my eyes. It's just miserable. I like it when it's hot because it feels so good afterwards, but it's just too hot right now.

2.05 miles.
Start/end training readiness 88/65
Recovery 22 hours

SMH.

These evil devil weapons have found me again and I never left the pavement. Obviously I got too close to the edge, but I did without noticing.

I hope Samsung follows suit. Nothing beats the sound of a good pair of wired Buds.

'bout dang time. Overall, I prefer Apple products to the others, but whoever runs their development area is completely out of touch with how people actually want to use their products. I suppose when they're all having to live in 200 square feet of converted shipping containers, they do go weirdly elitist.

I've got a $40 pair of JVC wired ear Buds that sound (bass) so much better than any wireless I've ever heard. I love my new galaxy buds, but every once in a while I'd like to crank it on the JVC.

All that said, Samsung hasn't hinted at doing the same and even if they did I just bought a new phone. Lol.

I don't have wireless buds, but my hearing aids are Bluetooth. There's nothing like a Boomer with a phone call reverberating inside their skull, trying to get their phone onto speaker. One of my Zoomer classmates kindly took my phone and made it happen...

I still have two pair of comically ole skoo Apple Bluetooth Beats Flex with the handy neck leash to keep me from losing them (although I have two because I DO occasionally lose one) that have better sound than any of the other Bluetooth itty bitty buds I've tried. I admire anyone who can keep track of individual wireless (and leashless) ear buds.

Just sitting here thinking about it, I think my galaxy buds sound just as good, they and others just don't get as loud. They go as loud as I probably need them to go, but sometimes I like it loud. Screw it.

I'm like the comedian that said something like "my music tastes has changed a little and still stayed the same now that I'm in my 40's. I now like Barry Manilow, but I like it loud".

@Behr @volfanbill

If I were to buy HBPW one these watches yall talk about, which one should I buy?
In my opinion it depends what she mainly wants it for.

And what phone she has. If she has an Apple phone either the Apple or Garmin. If she has an android either Samsung or Garmin.

Samsung is way better at the smartwatch stuff than Garmin but good at sports/health stuff.

Garmin is way better at the sports/health stuff and just okay with smartwatch stuff.

I only know what I've read about Apple, but if she has an android phone it doesn't matter.

Apple is the same as what you wrote about Samsung - better at smartwatch stuff (texts, emails, phone calls, blah blah) but not as strong on sports/health as Garmin.

I'd like to have one that was as good as Samsung at smartwatch stuff and as good as Garmin with health stuff and I'd like Garmin to do it. I just have that very important confidence feeling with Garmin.

The only reason I don't have a Venu 3 is they don't make one big enough for my taste. But for her, it might be just right.

It's the closest to being both..

Great Scott! I think it has the ESPN Sports pkg I've been looking for and a fax machine. :D

$454 on Amazon with GPS and power bundle. Worth it?

I guess it's worth a few more dollars to get that battery back up. I've got one of those stand chargers and it sucks. I don't even use it anymore.

It's important that you know what's important to her as far as what she really wants in the watch. I mean, if she doesn't care about using her watch to text and/or talk on the phone, then she might want to look at the Forerunner 265 or 165. They're both less money and have all the important stuff and a few less bells and whistles. Like the display is a little smaller and not as bright. Which isn't important to some.

The venu 3 has the gen5 sensor which is the main reason I wanted the one I just bought. That's something important to me but not everyone. Right now it means the Venu3 has ECG, the others don't. If that's not important and talking and texting isn't important, I'd advise looking at the other 2.

Size is something else too. Size does matter!! Lulz.

You can look at prices on Amazon but I like Garmins website for the specs. It tells errthang and it's laid out nice and simple to understand.
