Bishop almost always makes the first guy miss.
Great vision. He looked like the 2nd best back today. Caught the ball well and blocked well. Better than Sampson on the blocking.

Seldon and Lewis both are still getting in football shape.

Keith also needs more carries, but you can tell Bishop belongs there. He looks like an SEC back.

Until proven otherwise, the offense clicks with Bishop the same as Sampson.

It's tough to say against that opponent. By the time Bishop was getting carries, the Chattanooga defense was exhausted and their will was broken. I don't say that to dimish his efforts. I just don't think it's fair to say he looked better than those who played ahead of him against a fresher defense on a team that was just outmatched in all phases.

That being said, Bishop certainly proved he belonged and didn't look the part of a walk-on. And that's great if he can carry it over to a much more formidable opponent next week. It provides us with that much more depth at the position.

There’s really no way to equitably judge yesterday. Sampson is a stud, but beyond that with so many different players playing fairly early in the game, each RB wasn’t starting from the same position. It will begin to wash out some this next weekend.

I was impressed with Keith, as he’s a bulldozer even against guys who knew where the play was going. I think we will really appreciate him inside the 10.

I really like our RBs. We have no worries at that position.

I was trying to explain how physical Keith was to my spouse…wasted effort. He’s going to be significant this season I predict.

We have seen 1 game against UTC, CJH has seen all of fall camp. I think we should trust their decisions on depth charts

While Keith is undeniably physical I don’t think he will see meaningful snaps this year outside of blowouts like yesterday. He’s currently 5th on depth chart for a reason.

The model has already been laid out for us. There's a starter plus two rotational backs to relieve the starter. Seldon and Bishop will have about the same amount of snaps. Next year, after Dylan goes to the league, Cam will take over and Bishop will share with Keith. It's an NFL maker machine.

Yeah…because Sampson is the only returnee with “meaningful” carries. They’re beta testing other candidates. Were YOU the one who informed me that Bishop would never have meaningful carries at UT? Style sounds familiar. 🤨 In any case, Keith has a unique punishing style in this lot and that’s what I’m basing my take on. As the season wears on and we need those stingy yards in vital situations, I believe his number will be called more and more by the coaches. We pine for that Princeton Fant utility knife, but his role was the result of not having that kind of back on the roster imo.

You’re missing Lewis. He’s the alpha Wright/Sampson type with more weight imo.

I've consistently that keith is going to be a surprise this season. All our RBs are quality backs, dangerous runners, a trrue pick your poison bunch. But if Keith really gets a chance to strut his stuff, we will discover we have a Mike Alscott - Jerome Bettis hybrid. Laugh if you must, but you'll see. I'll even stretch my neck out and say the Tide and Bulldog trench warfares will be where he emrges.

I DID say the depth was a concern. Happy to say Seldon’s earlier than expected return from injury and Bishop’s emergence gives us quality depth and my fears were allayed. However, Keith was here last year. This isnt his first year and he’s already been passed up by Lewis. I’ll stand by my statement he won’t see snaps except in blowouts.

Not receiving developmental game reps behind the Big 3 last season with Small as the defacto power back is what you’re basing your declaration upon? I’ve already pumped up Lewis as our future alpha back next season after Sampson departs, but you’re parsing too much into who got into the game when and transposing over a whole season. Mike Matthews didn’t get a snap. You got Trey Weary solidly above him?
