I don't like it anymore. Grew up in the Antioch area, downtown used to have personality, different interesting stuff all over the place. Now everything but corporate backed generic clubs, bars and restaurants. Not much organic Nashville available there anymore.

And that's spilled over into West End now as well.
Downtown is meh but I love the rest of Nashville.

My wife's brother served time there back in the early nineties. We drove up there early on a Saturday morning. 1st and only time seeing that place. We got to spend some time with him and I sat in awe and curiosity of that place. About two years after serving his time, he died in a car wreck after apparently falling asleep at the wheel on his way to work.

Go Vols!
This post made me chuckle. Not laughing that your BIL died, just the way you wrote the post. "Yeah, he died. Go Vols!"

Did you have trouble trying to sleep? Were you counting sheep, but running out?

You're gonna be so tired you won't wanna wake up til september ends.
Since getting over covid I haven't slept but 4 - 5.5 hrs a night. Strangely I have more energy than ever. Worked out 9 of the last 10 days.

Maybe those 9 hrs of sleep I was getting before were too much.

Or maybe Glitch and I are just entering our pre-geriatric eras.

Saban is pretty cool when he ain’t coaching bammer

Promised my grandson.
I distinctly remember my dad promising to take me dove hunting as a kid. He parked his 1995 F-150 on the treeline in the shade beside a corn field. We leaned up against that truck with the radio on and door open, shooting dove and listening to the game.

We also had a family tradition of going duck hunting Thanksgiving weekend. I remember sitting in duck blinds with my grandfather listening to the Vols play Vandy during afternoon kickoffs.

I also remember going on spring and fall fishing trips with my grandfather and oftentimes taking time out of the trip to stop by a restaurant near the river to watch the games or the Vols play basketball in the NCAA tournament.

I've always thought/said my fandom was because my dad went to UT, but in hindsight it was really my grandfather that showed me what it was to be a Vols fan and also was the best example of how to love a team without letting losses upset you and how not to overreact. We'd always have the rest of the day to talk about the game and him find positives - he was a football coach - in the team.

Good job knoxvol52. Enjoy the day with your grandson and be sure to talk about the Vols and how much you love the Big Orange.

Barring injury, this could easily be a very special season for us. I think we have the players to make the playoffs. The key is keeping Nico and the OL healthy, IMO.
And specifically one WR in Bru McCoy. I really do believe he's going to dictate what kind of season Nico has. He is our best YAC and it's not even close. Crucial

The only thing restricting Nico's stats today will be sitting after the 1st or 2nd drive of H2.

I'm thinking he throws ~20 times and more like 30 in other games.
To add: also doubt they'll call many designed runs, if any.

Save that film and hits for State (and maybe UF if State looks as awful starting out as they did this week)

Proud Dad moment....
Daughter is Vol Senior. She is working at a local Hotel. Working the front desk last night the SEC officials walk up to get their rooms. She strikes up a conversation asking if they will be at every game this year when she boldly asks if there is anything the hotel could do to get an extra few calls our way in the Forida and Bama games this year just let her know.

I've raise a new generation of Vol giving her all for Tennessee!

I think he chuck it around a little bit today. Coach won’t let him get too behind in the Heisman race
Oh I have no doubt. 20 passes in a little over a half is a lot for this offense.

Went off how many times Hooker threw against lower teams. 18-24 was normal. We'll always be run heavy though. Run scheme is too elite to ignore. The GOAT. Get down to as few blockers as possible. Simply, mathematically optimal. So glad we have Hype.
