TiL some consider Greenland a part of North America and therefore America as a whole

I mean geographically, it doesn't seem unreasonable. Have just always thought of NA as the big 3 + Latin America and the islands from Cuba down to Grenada.

Greenland is 100% North America by pretty much all geographic designations. It's also located on the North American tectonic plate.

However, half of Iceland, half of Japan, and part of Eastern Russian/Siberia is also on the North American plate and they are attributed to other continents.
