Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Narduzzi is one of the best coaches at defending Heup’s system. Heup’s offense ran for 240 yds the first time he played them at UCF… the next 3 years…. Heup has struggled to run the football. The RBs at Tennessee averaged less than 3 ypc. NC State won’t be that successful…. WGWTFA!!!!

Where in the absolute F*** have you been?.😭😂😂 you never told me you were legit at soccer we could have been neighbors in Fiji right now in a dope ass hut with Tennessee banners hanging out front …what are you thinking bruv😭😂 the +money in soccer is honey 🍯 let me get in on this next time you place a bet
i posted in a thread on reddit "POTD, pick of the day". I was at 80% through about 25 picks. I was 15-0 at one point. I stopped posting there when I started getting death threats after my 1st and 2nd miss, 😂. 15-0, then missed 2 in a row, death threats, ignored them, went to 18-2, missed another 1-2, death threats. Ended up, I think, 20-4.

People are psycho on reddit

A buddy started a discord where he wanted to sell picks, but people just want the free picks and they wanna meltdown when you miss, even after you've be on a run.

Discord is called "the degen room". He may still have open.

All I seen in this was 80% if I’m losing once or twice I should still be in the + and I’m happy as hell with that but this tells me they were betting all their winnings trying to become rich overnight and lost it all on a unfortunate miss…that’s them being irresponsible not you but now you understand why I stopped posting…but I miss the group a lot…legendary shhhhi bruv good times🤜🏽🤛🏽🫶🏽

It was wild. No way I could've stayed at 80. I knew it was over when I started missing and I didnt try to keep going because of the idiots. I probably would've been down to 55 or 60 by pick #40.

Doesn’t matter you were consistent enough…you went through exactly what I went through..feeling like you had a lot of people counting on you because you knew people would follow and you don’t want them losing money as well as your own and when that happens doubt sets in second guessing picks and you lose focus on what your winning methods were…get back in the lab go back to your roots and you’ll start winning again bro..trust me. Only true bettors Understand this which is why there’s no way I could be upset with you myself at 80% or even 60% that’s still outstanding.

I'm still around 60%, if you take out my ridiculous $1 parlays

He would love that…. won’t let him play defense or anything else bc no one can snap the ball in shotgun but him. Don’t want him injured.

I mean centers get paid to bruv!…someone has to do it..undersized or not there’s centers in the NFL that were undersized and still made millions..find a example and watch film with him or even play a old game they played in..give him a idol at his position looking up to and it might be the spark he needs for the drive on being great undersized and who knows maybe you’ll be watching him in neyland🤜🏽🤛🏽🤝🏼😉🫶🏽

Driving is pretty much a required part of functional life. Hobbies aren't.

But to back up for context... The post I responded to claimed that "statistically", baseball is more dangerous than football, and then it gave non-statistical support via outlier injuries. So, I was just curious as to what method of statistics is in use here. (No pearl-clutching.) Is it a statistical comparison of knee sprains, or does it include the brain damage that's seen in football and soccer players after their playing days are over. (Not sure why soccer is important to the conversation when it wasn't a part of the comparison between football/baseball.)
Sorry for poor wording. Pearl clutching was directed at society in general. Soccer statistically has the highest number of concussions. Not sure of the data on severity, but in general a brain trauma is a brain trauma. As to the kid from Selma Al that died, I am waiting to see if there was something else going on medically going on or what the entirety of the circumstances were. We live about an hour away and get local reports from there. So while we pray for his family, we also need to take a breath before we decide football 's risk is out of line with other sports or other daily activities, like teen driving.

Cool.

I wasn't speaking to any individual case; just the opposite. I'm curious as to what statistics indicate that baseball is more dangerous than football. Is it simply a comparison of sprained knees? Or does it include parental concerns that one day their kid will grow up to have an associative syndrome where they beat the hell out of their wife and kids and then kill themselves. (ETA) I saw a study where something like 110 out of 111 NFL player brains that were studied had signs of CTE.

If true, that's fairly startling. (/ETA) One can call those concerns simple "societal pearl clutching", or one can call that "active parenting". And if one is going to bring statistics into the conversation, that should probably be part of the conversation.

No worries.

The point I was trying to make is it is much less likely for a baseball player to die by taking a 100 mph fastball to the helmet or cheek than a vicious hit on Football field. For those who beg to differ remind me when a baseball player died after a headshot.

So hear me out on this…is baseball more dangerous than men’s slow pitch softball orrrr👀👀🤔

How many football players have died on the field from taking a hit? Genuine question, I can't think of any.

I have had my bell rung more times than I can count, on the field and the farm, and I can do calculus and quantum physics.
OK. Thx.

I never caught AIDS, but I still encouraged my kids not to have unprotected sex or share needles.

Did those statistics include CTE? (I'm not trying to be an ***, but I thought we were discussing statistics as opposed to anecdotes.)

I'm not judging anyone who either lets or prohibits their kids from playing football. And I know we're on a football fandom message board, so we want all the super-talented kids playing football to grow and better the sport... I get it. But CTE looks to be a real thing with horrible and tragic effects on people and families. I'm not sure that underselling its dangers is the way forward.

Looks like over 99% of former NFLers have it, and 87% of (nebulous) "former football players" have it...? (ETS: See below post for caveat.)

CTE is a degenerative disease, meaning that its effects accumulate over time. Unlike a concussion, which is just one single trauma to the head, CTE happens from repeated blows—each one not necessarily strong enough to be considered a concussion, but intense all the same. These blows cause a protein called tau to build up in the noggin. As tau spreads, it kills brain cells.
