And you might want to go back and look at the chart and compare 2009-2016 and 2017-2019 for your more border crossings = more deportations theory. Not a big change in number of crossings.

Ive always wondered how illegal activity is quantified. Obviously it isnt tracked through production, distribution, purchase or use. It can only be estimated.
So how do they estimate border crossings? And why is that estimate accurate? And how would those that estimate account for novel ways of entry into the USA previously unknown and inestimable?

I even said I'd partially agree with you if we were talking about JUST the border.

But as I've stated at least a dozen times, illegal immigration is keeping them out AND enforcing existing laws to kick those out who are living here.

The actual physical border, he did fine. He did far better than Bush 2 and Biden and was in line with Obama.

The second part is enforcing laws to those that have been living here illegally. This is where he failed.

The metric that matters is number living here illegally each year.
