Good grief everyone still beating that dead horse. It's one dang game .
additionally, he was playing under center. that has to alter his abilities. hard as **** to make any meaningful passes under center with no running game.

Btw, the DL commitment to GA was garbage

I guess we're stuck hoping @nicksjuzunk remembers his responsibilities to the VN RF and arrives in time before @Glitch decides to start a bad luck monstrosity that will result in team injuries and a 6-6 season. If you truly love the Vols, you do NOT want @Glitch starting the game thread. Even good people such as he can be bad luck, and he is.

Folks –

I appreciate the suggestion that if Nick is going to be absent I be considered as an author for the weekly game thread in the recruiting forum but, no. I’m not the guy. Trust me. jmo.

I think there are a huge pool of candidates in this forum that I think would do an exemplary job. Here are some suggestions for your consideration. jmo.

I highly recommend Devo. He seems to me like a real smart guy so we’d have smart game threads, at least in the OP portion. The write-ups may not have the quality humor Nick would often slide in but maybe we just haven’t seen that side of Devo’s wit yet. I do think he would be a good candidate. Seriously. jmo.

Another possible choice would be Weezer. Weezer is rightly regarded as VolNation’s most beloved poster so it would seem that he would be an obvious choice. The major benefit with Weezer doing the game threads would I think be that every thread would be an adventure. I think that would generate tons of interest and the mods could remove any nudes. Family site, you know. jmo.

My third and final suggestion is Glitch. I know, I know. His first time out it didn’t go so well but think about it, he’s got experience now. Experience is the best teacher. He’s probably already better. Besides, I think he’d really like to have the opportunity. That counts tons. jmo.

I was going to suggest Doc but I’m not sure how it would work if the game thread wasn’t posted until a month after the game was actually played. The threads would be so full of spoilers, I mean, no mystery about the outcomes. I just can’t see how that could work. jmo.

I’m going to tell you the truth. Glitch would be my first choice. Why? Because with Glitch It’s probably always going to be fun. I believe that. I really do. Plus as an added benefit if we lose every game this year no one will have to ask why? jmo.
Should have added a poll. I support all of these.

I know they have a favorable schedule, but man I just have this feeling Mizzou fans are in for a huge wake up call after last season. I think they legitimately believe they are one of the best programs in the country now lol. Going to be a disappointing year for them. Calling it now.

They don’t realize how good that running back made them. COOK ain’t it. I wish we had a shot at them again this yesr

I had no idea there were posters actively hoping for us to fail this season. Guess we're identifying who the trolls are.
We don't have a game thread and we are only days away from the season kickoff and you are obstructing game thread creation. Sounds like you may be the one that is hoping for our season to fail comrade yeti.

I will support whoever the forum chooses for game day thread author and in that vein I offer the future office holder my notes on the first game, for what they’re worth. jmo.

Tidbits on Chattanooga –

Their QB is in his second year as the starter. He previously was a walkon at UCLA and ran Chip Kelly’s scout team for 3 years before landing in the Scenic City. He was chosen second team all-conference by the SoCon coaches for this year. Key thing to know is he seems to like to throw interceptions, not that there’s anything wrong with that. jmo.

Chattanooga beat Austin Peay in the first round of the playoffs last year and they have a good bit of returning production, especially on offense, for this year. They have a total of 10 players on the coaches preseason all-conference 2-deep, 6 on offense (2 WR, 2 OL, 1 QB, 1 TE) and 4 on defense (2 DL, 2 DB).

Peay’s coach from last year left after that game with the Mocs and took a bunch of staff and players (11) with him to UTEP who we will host late in this season.

Rusty Wright, the Mockingbird’s head coach, in 5 years at UTC has never had a losing season. While most know they’re the pick to win the SoCon this year and are ranked #8 in the FCS preseason poll, Jeff Sagarin, who ranks FBS & FCS teams together, has the Mocs ranked ahead of both UTEP and Kent State. UTC is at #131; we’re at #16. With Sagarin’s model we’re a 37 point favorite at home.

The Mocs lost their DC to Clemson’s support staff and while they have a new DC this year, it’s still Rusty’s defense as his background is on that side of the ball. jmo.

I listened to post fall camp extended interviews with both coordinators and a 30 min interview with Rusty. One thing Rusty pointed out I noted was in times past schools like his would often get players from D1 transferring down to FCS to avoid the lost year of eligibility but with the new portal rules they no longer get players like that. Of course they also have a 63 man limit for scholarships.

After soberly comparing our team to their team I came to the confident conclusion that we should go through those guys like crap through a goose. jmo.
