It's NC State. They're an 8-4 ACC program and would be a 7-5 or 6-6 team in the SEC most years. They supposedly have a good defense. Well, Iowa did too and we saw what happened there. I just don't think they've necessarily taken a step since we played them in 2012. They were an 8-4 program then, too.

I just think if Tennessee is going to be capable of rolling into Norman and winning, let alone challenging Bama at Neyland, we should be able to beat NC State by more than 1 TD. Granted, we barely got past Pitt in 2022 and went on to beat Bama, but that was the beginning of Heupel's second season. This is year 4 with a veteran team outside of QB and secondary that should be able to handle business.

We are not at “roll out the helmets” winning level yet, nor are we at the “just need a lucky break to win” level.
We are at the “better bring your A game” level and trending upward

Folks –

I appreciate the suggestion that if Nick is going to be absent I be considered as an author for the weekly game thread in the recruiting forum but, no. I’m not the guy. Trust me. jmo.

I think there are a huge pool of candidates in this forum that I think would do an exemplary job. Here are some suggestions for your consideration. jmo.

I highly recommend Devo. He seems to me like a real smart guy so we’d have smart game threads, at least in the OP portion. The write-ups may not have the quality humor Nick would often slide in but maybe we just haven’t seen that side of Devo’s wit yet. I do think he would be a good candidate. Seriously. jmo.

Another possible choice would be Weezer. Weezer is rightly regarded as VolNation’s most beloved poster so it would seem that he would be an obvious choice. The major benefit with Weezer doing the game threads would I think be that every thread would be an adventure. I think that would generate tons of interest and the mods could remove any nudes. Family site, you know. jmo.

My third and final suggestion is Glitch. I know, I know. His first time out it didn’t go so well but think about it, he’s got experience now. Experience is the best teacher. He’s probably already better. Besides, I think he’d really like to have the opportunity. That counts tons. jmo.

I was going to suggest Doc but I’m not sure how it would work if the game thread wasn’t posted until a month after the game was actually played. The threads would be so full of spoilers, I mean, no mystery about the outcomes. I just can’t see how that could work. jmo.

I’m going to tell you the truth. Glitch would be my first choice. Why? Because with Glitch It’s probably always going to be fun. I believe that. I really do. Plus as an added benefit if we lose every game this year no one will have to ask why? jmo.

Bummer… maybe you could make a regular habit to post some fun facts in the thread each week

I would have been fine with @Enki_Amenra , but the more I thought about it, we’d be opening a can of worms allowing betting odds into the op and also he would probably use Sally for the write up and I don’t trust that b!tch.

I would be terrible at that, but I appreciate the nomination.

Questions for those of you that keep up with recruiting a little more than I do. We are currently at 24 recruits for the 2025 class, per 247.
#1 Is there still a 25 limit on class size or did the new NCAA thing end that?
#2 If the answer to #1 is no limit, does that effectively kill the remaining scholarship sanctions for the Pruitt mess?
#3 If were are still going after recruits, who is left that we are high on and expect may come in?
