I know they have a favorable schedule, but man I just have this feeling Mizzou fans are in for a huge wake up call after last season. I think they legitimately believe they are one of the best programs in the country now lol. Going to be a disappointing year for them. Calling it now.
Yeah, I don't think they are a bad team or a pushover at all. But this Tennessee team is supposed to be really good with only a couple of minor question marks. And if we're an upper echelon, playoff-caliber SEC team, we should win by 10-14 or so.Losing to them is unacceptable for sure. It is indeed NC State, but they have a lot of talent and experience.
It's not a game where we can trip over ourselves like we did at Pitt in 2022. McCall has been one of the more prolific QB's in the country for a while. Their RB had 1600 yards for Duke last year. Top WR was ACC rookie of the year, Rogers from OSU was a 5 star at WR, Justin Jolly from UConn...we couldn't cover him last year at TE. 4 starters from o-line back. Their secondary is really strong.
BUT their d-line is their weakness and that's probably the worst place to have your biggest weakness if you play us.
We just can't have a day where we are off, shoot ourselves in the foot with a bunch of penalties and have dumb turnovers. Otherwise we should eventually overwhelm them.
That's what confused me. Even googling it, everyone said "the sabbath is the 7th day" and I was like well duh, everyone knows that...and the 7th day is Sunday, everyone knows that tooThe sabbath has always legitimately been the seventh day of the week. Saturday on our calendar. From the time the New Testament was written, there was a distinction made between the last day of the week (Sabbath), and the first day of the week (The Lord's Day), since Jesus rose from the grave on the first day of the week.
The sabbath was specifically a Jewish law, never given to the gentiles/church. While an early Judaizing faction of the church tried to put the church under Jewish law (including the sabbath), Paul argued against it, stating not to let anyone judge you about such things because they were a symbolic promise that pointed toward Jesus, but now we have Jesus, the True Rest and Finished Work. Thus, the sabbath now represents the old covenant, and The Lord's Day represents the new covenant.
There is also a somewhat symbolic aspect to the discussion between sabbath (7th day) rest and the rest in The Lord's Day. With the Sabbath, one worked hard all week and then rested. (Works-first). With The Lord's Day/Resurrection Day/First Day of the week... Note that we rest first and then work. i.e. The Rest isn't a result of our work. Our work is a result of the Rest in Jesus' finished work.
Also, Sunday isn't a Sabbath. It isn't a new way to do the same old thing. It's a completely new thing that replaced the completely old thing.

Yah. I suspect why everyone considers Monday the 1st day. It's literally and demonstrably not. That's what confused me. Even googling it, everyone said "the sabbath is the 7th day" and I was like well duh, everyone knows that...and the 7th day is Sunday, everyone knows that too
Well well at least I'll enter my 40s with 1 less blind spot
Though if there's a silver lining, ISO 8601 agrees with me![]()
For us. Don't tell that to the people of Bali, where you have to be a calculus expert to know what day of the week it isYah. I suspect why everyone considers Monday the 1st day. It's literally and demonstrably not.
However, in Christendom, the work week generally started on the *second* day of the week (Monday) out of deference to church/Sunday/The Lord's Day. But as the west became more secular, people started marking time more by the first day of the work-week. So, you have a mental break between what we see on our calendars (Sunday--Day1) vs what we feel in our work bones (Monday -- Day1).
But, literally, Sunday is the first day of the week.
The most terrifying moment in life is when the toilet refuses to flush at someone else's house.
People who don't have a plunger in the guest room are automatic failures as hosts.
We put this out when my son's friends come over......I agree, but my wife thinks they're nasty and refuses to allow it in there. So, I tell her she is responsible for any and all consequences created by our guests.

I vote for @Enki_Amenra. (Only if @nicksjuzunk is unavailable). @peaygolf would be another one that would be a good one
Sorry @Glitch. I'll fight those dastardly mods with you any time but we've got a legit shot at winning a championship this season. Your 'game thread' record is pretty bad.
Here's one for Fan Duel. They give you $50 and me $50 once you make a $10 bet.I've been considering giving it a go. Used to do something similar with online poker referrals about 20 years ago. Where do you get the referral code?
Also, what are the requirements on withdrawing whatever your initial investment is in order to get the code?
