Woke up wondering if anyone considers it officially game week yet. I've always considered Monday the beginning of game week. Because Sunday is still the weekend...the end of the prior week.

I was also always taught god rested on the sabbath...the 7th day. And that was of course Sunday, duh...that was the day of rest! First you to church, then watch NFL, everyone knows that. But I've also seen businesses say Sunday is the first day of the week and its why calendars appear that way...what? How can that be? Down the rabbit hole I went to show these morans what I was taught was the proper sabbath.

Apparently for catholicism and protestantism the sabbath is on Sunday. Otoh, Eastern/Orthodox Christianity observes it on Saturday. What gives?

Ok, then I went to the predecessors to settle this once and for all...Reform Jews traditionally observed it on Sunday, though almost all do on Saturday now. Saturday is also common for others in Judiasm...well that's a killer, those folks should know what's what.

Then...out of nowhere...I laid this whole silly argument aside whence I seent the light and converted religions immediately. Ladies and gentleman, I am officially now an Ethiopian Christian. I shalt require 2 days rest henceforth. Please respect my decision.

The sabbath has always legitimately been the seventh day of the week. Saturday on our calendar. From the time the New Testament was written, there was a distinction made between the last day of the week (Sabbath), and the first day of the week (The Lord's Day), since Jesus rose from the grave on the first day of the week.

The sabbath was specifically a Jewish law, never given to the gentiles/church. While an early Judaizing faction of the church tried to put the church under Jewish law (including the sabbath), Paul argued against it, stating not to let anyone judge you about such things because they were a symbolic promise that pointed toward Jesus, but now we have Jesus, the True Rest and Finished Work. Thus, the sabbath now represents the old covenant, and The Lord's Day represents the new covenant.

There is also a somewhat symbolic aspect to the discussion between sabbath (7th day) rest and the rest in The Lord's Day. With the Sabbath, one worked hard all week and then rested. (Works-first). With The Lord's Day/Resurrection Day/First Day of the week... Note that we rest first and then work. i.e. The Rest isn't a result of our work. Our work is a result of the Rest in Jesus' finished work.

Also, Sunday isn't a Sabbath. It isn't a new way to do the same old thing. It's a completely new thing that replaced the completely old thing.

I remember when NC State at the GA Dome was supposed to be a tough game. We smoked them and were a 5-7 team.

IMO it will be a bad sign if we don’t win this game handily.
Idk. NC State always plays tough a few times a year. I think we win by around 8-10. I just dont think they'll be able to deal with our defense and our offense will be rolling by the 2nd quarter.

I think our defense will give us 3-4 extra possessions and they won't be able to overcome that.

Nearly the same spread as the OU game.

Do find it odd people see OU as basically 50/50, yet somehow the State game should be a shoe-in. Not sure many have seen all the transfers they picked up. Should be stout. Will contend with Clemson...maybe Miami for the ACC.

That said, lord I hope we trash them with the thunder of a thousand seas and put the world on notice. Then those transfers can jell afterwards and make us look good.

NC State isn't getting much respect. I hope they don't earn it vs us. If they do beat us, it won't be because they're good, it'll be because we suck and fahr Willie.

Curious as to which way you experts would go….
I'm not usually very accurate until after week 3 or 4. Still, I think we win by 8+. We'll get a few extra possession from our defense and the tempo of our offense. I don't think they'll be able to keep up. It could probably get out of hand too.

I think if we each have 10 possessions, we'd score 8/10 times, they'd get 6 or 7. That's 3-7pts difference min. If we get 3 or 4 extra possessions, we'll add at least 1 more score. I think we win by 6-14 minimum. Could easily be a 20pt+ difference for us in best case seniorio.

38-27 Vols
