I think the ref pointed at the ground to say his knee went down in bounds. Not sure but it was close.

Yeah they did it to shorten games.

That is not the case. They changed it to where first downs with more than two minutes in the half no longer stops the clock. Out of bounds under two minutes is the same as it has ever been.

Between Pat yesterday and the game today that was a good opening for CFB. I know many may not like neutral site games, but those GT players will never forget that trip.
