What I want to know is why didn't any of the onlookers do anything? If I saw a guy on a roof that OBVIOUSLY didn't belong there, I would chuck the nearest water bottle at him. Especially a guy that was crawling along that looked like he was having an epileptic fit while sneaking up on the family dog.

But to go in and simply fire the top 2-3 levels of supervision, especially right now, is just dumb.

I think its pretty telling about who you are as a person when your biggest gripe and takeaway from this entire debacle is the "lack of decorum" displayed by our congressmen on both sides of the aisle instead of the fact that Mrs. Cheatles failure caused multiple injuries, the death of a husband and father and the failed assaination of a former president.

The two key failures seem to be the lack of clear demarcation of who would secure that roof and how, and leaving Trump up on the stage when there was a legitimate question about unexplained suspicious activity. He should have been taken off immediately until they figured it out.

I think this is much more of a top down administrative failure than the bottom up failure that is being conveyed here....

This hearing was for one purpose,m and one purpose only, which is for MAGA-based Republicans to appease their base and imply that this was somehow intentional on the part of the Administration, which is absurd on its face.

The shrieking by Mace was emblematic of the cheap ploy.

In case you didn’t watch the hearing, I don’t think a single Democrat was happy with her either. So don’t pretend that this was some „Maga only“ dressing down. This was true bipartisanship.

I disagree. Her getting bad information from people has seemed to be happening a lot in this case. Her going there immediately would have dispelled a lot of that. The pitched roof is the big example. A lot of solid reasoning for going and inspecting the actual site for yourself so you can see past the bs reports that the media will blast you on if you report it….
