Donald Trump's would-be assassin had researched the Princess of Wales online before he tried to murder the former president, it was reported today.

Thomas Matthew Crooks had downloaded photos of the future queen, FBI analysis of his two phones and laptop show.

Police in the US made the discovery about his apparent fixation with the British royal after searching Crooks' home and seizing his electronic devices in the aftermath of his attack in Pennsylvania last Saturday.


The 20-year-old rifleman had images of the Princess of Wales on his phone, according to National Public Radio. Sources close to the investigation have confirmed this to DailyMail.com.

Crooks had searched for information about the 42-year-old royal in addition to looking at Donald Trump, President Joe Biden, FBI Director Christopher Wray and US Attorney General Merrick Garland.

This is very simple...

The USSS Director can't (or won't) even answer the questions Congress has in a closed session. Do you honestly think the public is going to accept answers she's going to give otherwise given her track record so far.

She literally went on national TV and said the roof was sloped too much to put officers there. How well do you think she's going to perform when she gets someone like Fox or Newsmax asking really tough questions?

For some reason I'm getting a mental image of her sitting in a hearing, fidgeting uncomfortably and responding to each question with "If I told you, it wouldn't be the 'Secret' Service now would it?" Either that or she scurries out of the room screaming "It's a secret! It's a seeeeeeeeecret!"

The easiest way for them to get answers is start knocking on the correct door. Of course, I don't think anyone is going to like the false story.

A problem with Cheatle doing a public hearing is the stupid grandstanding that R congressional members will engage in rather than digging into the most important questions.

At this point I'd like her to meet privately under oath with the various Senate and House committees and let the information of her testimony come out rather than watch the stupid display we'll see in a public setting.

The public one can come later

But seriously, even if a teacher isn’t teaching MY child, he or she may be teaching a future employee of mine, my future doctor, my future congressional representative, or who knows what else. Society is already pretty generously filled with educated idiots. Let’s do all we can to not add to that number.

She already had a private virtual meeting with Senators and by all reports, she basically avoided answering any questions. It is time for testimony in a public hearing.
And I hate grandstanding for the sake of grandstanding. But in cases like this, the issue involved is so important that grandstanding is ok if it helps get answers.
For my entire adult life, if you would have asked me who I thought the most professional and competent government agency was, I would have easily answered the SS. The actual field agents there are among the most trustworthy and best trained individuals anywhere in government. It pains me to no end to see people I respect so much get drug through the mud and ridiculed in myriad memes because their leadership put them in such a ludicrous situation. They deserve better and the American People deserve better.
Director Cheatle has stated that “the buck stops with me.” What exactly does that mean to her? How is she holding herself accountable for her agencies failure? The phrase made famous by Harry Truman has becoming absolutely MEANINGLESS in DC nowadays.

I keep getting the mental image of her repeating "it's not in my purview" and referring to the local metal roof installers for info
