There are a handful of things I have to pay close attention to what I'm doing to get it the way I want it. Hushpuppies be one of them. This is what my idea of a Hushpuppy should be. They are not as dark as they look in the picture.

How deep is the cooking oil? And do you use a skillet/ sauce pan or a deep-fat frier?

Love hushpuppies etc but the slash cleanup, ouch.

Grapeseed oil about an inch deep in a 7 1/4 sauce pan. Yellow cornmeal.

I did some in the air fryer that were good but not the same. They were like little cornbread cakes. Would have been great Mexican style and melted butter on top. Boon!

I clearly said I'm a fan of all cheese, but goat cheese was my least favorite.

Nowhere did I say I didn't like goat cheese.
