I struggle with the mocking of the inner perimeter field agents who are there to literally take a bullet. It is not their fault their bosses are incompetent....

I know she has issues holstering her weapon but let's blame the people who put her in that high profile position with a flawed plan and flawed risk analysis.

Agreed. Chaotic moment and a lot going on. Looked like either her blazer got in the way or she expected her holster to be in one position on her waist but it was further back on her waist. I’m definitely not going to be piling on someone that’s willing to take a bullet.

—The shooter visited the rally site a few days in advance to scope it out
—62 mins elapsed between the time the shooter was photographed as being suspicious and when he fired the shots
—20 mins elapsed between the time he was spotted by snipers & when he fired the shots
—FBI Director Wray said there’s no known foreign nexus but no established motive as of now. Shooter used encrypted comms and had little to no social media presence

The last sentence is convenient. But we knew that was coming.

Okay so after 5 days, the SS can report they have zero records that they did anything until shots were fired other than they noted the shooters appearance including up on a roof nobody was suppose to be with a rifle?

Yeah this seems more consistent with what the SS would trust local law enforcement with as well. This boils down to three possibilities:
1)utter incompetence by the detail
2)under staffed detail
3)secret service was in on it if you’re into conspiracies

I don’t think it was the third simply bc I’m not sure some of these agents are capable of holstering their weapon much less anything more sinister and elaborate.

This wasn’t some foreign power with an elaborate terrorist plan and with financial and tactical support. This was a twenty year old kid who borrowed his dad’s rifle and somehow managed to get into a sniping position 130 yards from Trump. It was an easy shot that only by the grace of God missed. This isn’t politics either during the past democrat or republican this was an elite protection detail; you cannot say that now with a straight face after this embarrassment.

Admission or not this is a failure. Imagine if the situation were reversed. Media would be proclaiming Trump straight up had Biden killed.

It's going to end up the SS were too understaffed and that building was neglected.

I made the comment about traffic control because thats about as much as you can reasonably expect of small town cops for events of this magnitude. Thankfully, they might have rushed the shooter just enough to cause him to barely miss..
