At least one of those false claims made it into our discussion for a bit.
A spokesman for the Secret Service said snipers are trained and instructed to act whenever they see a threat, and do not await instructions before taking a shot to neutralize a suspect. He said he couldn’t discuss the specifics of agency communication or the details of the ongoing investigation, but said the post was false.
I'm not much of a conspiracy guy, so my brain won't let me believe this was a setup (yet). I guess I'm going with a combination of total incompetence and/or laziness on the part of those assigned to protect him at the rally.
Also, if I were Trump, someone would be taste-testing every meal before I ate. And someone I trust would be vetting every single person assigned to protect me.
I can imagine HR managers interviewing the new hire prospect in a few weeks:
HR: You have great experience, great letters of rec, and your salary expectations are within range. Just a couple more routine questions.
Why did you leave your last employer?
New Hire: I was fired for publicly announcing my anger the Assassin missed Trump and Trump wasn't killed.
