I mean I've been teaching a long time and can retire any time (albeit in rural Appalachia), and I've never heard of anything remotely like this drag stuff being "scheduled" for our students.

We do our best to be thorough in providing chaperones and in sending permission slips for parents to sign if there are trips, and any outside speakers in individual classes or in assemblies (policy for several years now) have to be approved by the school board (as of course is true with the trips).

tl;dr warning. I have four grandkids, I don't want them to see things that would be inappropriate for their age levels, but I also hate the notion of censorship. The books they bring in here from their school libraries are not inappropriate (or I have not seen anything that is in appropriate, at least). I have never seen a trans speaker at the school where I teach. When I took my Scholastic Bowl team to one of the schools in our conference, we had to use the unisex bathrooms at that school. That was different for all of us. None of us had ever experienced that before, but those stalls were like vaults (seriously). I teach all the Honors English classes at my high school, and when I am told to remove Nietzche, O'Connor, Twain, Faulkner, Salinger, Lawrence, Golding, and TKAM from the shelves in my classroom, I'll either fight like Hail or go to the dam house hahaha
