A lot to unpack there. A VP candidate is about much more than your political views. It’s about being qualified to be the country’s chief executive

As to political views, that was 40 years ago. The gay marriage ship has sailed. Us conservatives lost. Time to move on. You will never be able to take that right away from gays

The only part I think in that scenario that could come into play is that IF it's actually a Biden/Harris ticket it's entirely believable (arguably probable) that Biden isn't lasting the full term. If one accepts that to be the case then a vote for Biden is, perhaps more likely than not, a vote for President Harris.

Exactly what that might mean among the undecided I'm not sure.

It should be, but is it? Considering who the 2 main party candidates are to start with, I have no faith that the voting populace has neither the intelligence or the objectivity to look that far. It’s partisan or bust, no matter the consequences. The political world we live in.

Maybe going full send is the plan. In your face, loud, outspoken. People are more jaded in 2024 than 2016. I think that attitude might fire up some people who were non voters in 2020. But I'm just spit balling. Not a huge fan of the pick.

I see that, but she was on the ticket last election and ended up in the winners bracket. Against all conceivable logic she is a step away from being the leader of the free world. It’s scary, but it’s real right in front of our eyes. If partisan voters put her there to begin with, they’ll have no problem doing it again.

Trump understands what the rest of the GOP doesn’t. That no matter who it is, what they’ve done, or what they believe, the (R) next to their name proves they are:

Maybe I didn't explain myself well. The "partisans" are absolutely going to be there regardless. However you had specifically cited "swing votes" in the post I quoted. (I used "undecided") That's where it could get more interesting.

There's also the possibility that if Harris gets straight dragged it could just turn some of those voters off. They may not vote Trump/Vance but they could become very iffy on lining up behind Harris.

That’s where maybe I should have been more specific in my post. I didn’t say “swing voters” I said “swing votes from your opponent” meaning to sway and switch parties. I personally don’t think there are really that many undecideds out there anymore.

No idea but I’ll just say I’m shocked the UAW president even asked to speak in the first place. Double shocked that the RNC accepted and the DNC didn’t even respond. The clear take away for the UAW is they are taken for granted by Democrats.
