I meant to come back to this a few days ago, but life happened. Rucker needs to hang up his abacus, because his math ain't mathing. There is a lot of hip-hop/rap in the walk-ups, for sure, but we've also got some Johnny Cash (Bargo), Rush (Chuck Taylor), Red Rider (D-Loy), Chris Stapleton (Beam), AC/DC (Snead), Black Sabbath (Behnke), RHCP (AJ Russell), and who can forget Kirby's walk-up? Walk-ups are one of my favorite parts of baseball. Here's a link to my playlist of this year's songs if you're interested: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/77VaFaAcgALnKJrBejRNcz?si=ixwO6vY3Qa2PDXSBI52diA&pi=u-e9CHtpiUQ_mW (I have all 3 that Peebles has used this year but don't yet have the new one Ariel debuted in Hoover last weekend). I only ask that you don't listen to it while you're on your way to a game, because I did that driving to Auburn and we lost the first game.Wes Rucker did the math and there are three Tennessee players who have walk up songs that use a guitar at all.
Burke, a country song
Reese chapman, your love
And Aaron Combs, Blind by Korn.
It kills me that rock music is that ****ing dead man. I know I’m younger but I was raised on hair metal and grunge lol
My one complaint about the Stache Talk podcasts is that no one would ever sing his walk-up when Kirby asked. I offered to be Kirby's guest for a special walk-up episode where we could sing, discuss, and be general idiots about walk-up songs, but for some reason he's never taken me up on that.
