OK, so I am always mixed about the SEC baseball tournament.
I love winning championships, but I consider a regular season title as more impressive.
But I always wonder if these post-season tourneys (baseball, basketball, football league championship game) are worth the effort to win them
I think the SEC tourney hurt the 2022 Tennessee baseball juggernet that failed to make it to Omaha despite being the best team that season.
They were coming off a road series and did not even return to Knoxville before the SEC tourney. Fatigue hurt that team's chances.
Part of me would rather see them go home early to get a little down time before the NCAA regionals begin.
Besides, I look at these league post regular-season games in all sports as more about money than anything. Greed that is ruining college sports.
How many of the SEC baseball national champions also won the SEC tournament the same year ?
