From what I recall in prior years it depends on the weather at their park. Their park plays to their small ball strengths.I'd be willing bet that we hit over 10 home runs in this series. After watching what Louisville did they are NOT ready for the best power line up in America. If we lose this series we have to play pretty bad IMO
The two teams are well suited for their arenas. If their park plays short we could torch them. If it plays long like I have observed before they could eek out a sweep. Make no bones, UK has outperformed us on some neutral sites. They swept Bama and we lost to Bama.Agree on the pitching. Someone posted a big stats comparison between us and UK. And frankly, on paper, we smoke them. But we all know that’s on paper. If our pitching shows up like it can, we can sweep them.
Disagree. You have a huge advantage if you're physically gifted in football and basketball. You don't have to be a certain height or weight or 40 time to be successful at baseball. You have to develop those skills but "average" athletes can excel at baseball. That's one reason football is so popular. . .you have a position for the fatties and bean poles to play and be successful.
It blows my mind that players can practice and condition themselves at the level they do and still have a tire around their waist. They must eat truckloads to stay that size. . . but, I also ate truckloads and could never again a lb over about 180. . . which is my point, I guess. There is a spot on the field for all body types
Wut?You realize I.Q. tests are normed to the population taking the test at the time and to some extent they are valid over a period of years. Comparing I.Q. scores from a hundred years ago to today's is probably more art than science, and not really reliable. A 36 on the ACT is not the same as a 36 30 years ago.
Facts on the ground are that the math skill requirements to graduate the eighth grade of a 100 years ago wouldn't be met by most of the high school graduates today.
Average athlete is not accurate IMO when it comes to hand eye. My son plays Tennis and I see similar. At mid levela you don't need to fit a height or speed measurable, but you do have to have elite hand eye. At the upper levels agility becomes very important and hand eye and knowledge play a smaller role.Disagree. You have a huge advantage if you're physically gifted in football and basketball. Hand eye and strength and bat speed are suuuuuper important to hitting a baseball at every level. It's a different athleticism, but you absolutely need to be an elite athlete to be an elite baseball player (these days). Just not the same kind of athletes as football and basketball.Average athlete is not accurate IMO when it comes to hand eye. My son plays Tennis and I see similar. Chicks dig the long ball.In high school? You use Jordan in the minors as your exhibit A then a high school league for the counter example? No amount of athleticism will make a receiver or running back successful if they don't know the play at any decent level of football. If the RB goes right while the OL blocks left, he's not going anywhere. If the wr runs a completely wrong route than what the play was called, he's not catching a pass most of the time.
Whereas a clueless baseball player who's had millions of reps and exceptional bat speed and coordination will be able to hit a pitcher no matter how clueless he is. Your team didn't win state just because they "knew" baseball, they won state because they were physically gifted hitters, which is all about reps/experience and raw talent. And probably some good in game coaching to tell them which pitches to expect.
Agree but if you have that, you don't need to be 6'6" and run a 4.5. No doubt major Leaguers are blessed with that skill.Average athlete is not accurate IMO when it comes to hand eye.
