I’m not following here what does NIL/transfer portal to the benefit of the players have to do with coach contracts?
It's a simile.

Or not. I was never seen as a great grammaritician.

The point is do you think sport leagues/and fans would prefer a sense of YoY commonality within their teams or a situation where each team is new every year?

Jmo but in the latter situatuon very few people would ever want to simply buy a jersey. Few players would talk about "their team" or school or city. Nobody would hang jerseys from rafters or build statues. And for what?

Love it or hate it, sports come back to community and togetherness. Once you go full-on mercenary for coaches and players, then that sport becomes unlike any other sport. Not sure how it would pan out tbh.

Again, this is all hypothetical and a thought experiment. Does a sports league and its fans want to see some semblance of a persistent "team" over time or just any ole HC from year to year and rotating guys every season?

$600 is the IRS reporting min for contact work. Would be good if schools can educate, for sure. Curious how the facilitating will occur.

Note the SAs will not be required to retain counsel from the unis. If they do accept it, they must report all deals over $600 to the school within 30 days...

So what's this all about at the end of the day for the lawmakers at hand? šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”

Whataboutism and all, it's all relative.

Tomorrow the NCAA could say "only teams beginning with the letter "A" are allowed to win championships"...

And life would go on.

Maybe I jumped into the middle of a life or death discussion and missed it, but I was just talking about something other than life ending material: how sports leagues tend to decide how to operate and why.

DorkPhoenix seems to still be having a hard time with the hire, šŸ˜‚
Idjit or troll: difficult to tell the difference. Never been sure there is a functional difference. šŸ˜‚

I actually had a little piece of artwork to go with an inflammatory remark. But I'm backing off. Hoping we're witnessing the turn. A lot of momentum for the LVs developing right now.

Find the scumbag that stole this 8 year old’s baseball - and have him drawn and quartered.

Shoutout to the Orioles for making this right for opposing fans. And shoutout to Byron Buxton too.

Doubt we add anyone from the portal without somebody leaving. If LWSVOL's calculations are correct and we are currently at 83 scholarships, I think we roll with the team we have.

Just hope everyone gets healthy.
I agree. But I will say if there is a solid LB and IOL available I can see them at least entertaining it though. Definitely wouldn't hurt. I've heard AP state recently that staff could possibly get 1 or 2 just depends on the situation
