I have to say I would have been super shocked if she'd announced otherwise because she seemed to me to extremely happy to be a Tennessee Lady Vol. After only one season, that young woman bleeds orange.

Some things are just meant to be. Period. Jewel at Tennessee is one of those things, and I'm so happy she's staying! 🧡

I think they will be some movement on the current roster before the portal is over. Don’t know who just have that feeling.

Maria needs to move on. Nobody cares that she was recruited by the previous staff. She’s trying to give them credit for something they don’t deserve.

Making it out like if she choose Tennessee it’s because of the previous staff. Who were fired because THEY COULD NOT RECRUIT.

I don’t think that’s what she’s trying to do at all. I think she’s just adding context and perhaps even demonstrating how high this player’s interest is in being a Lady Vol. Even tho the entire staff changed, she’s still interested. It makes me more optimistic, rather than make me feel any way about any coaching staff.

I hope one day we can see a reference to the previous staff, and it not be interpreted as nefarious undermining!

You don’t know Maria very well then lol. That’s exactly what she’s trying to do.

More of someone younger who can get up and down the floor and rebound. Hopefully someone who can be on the team for a few years.

She also averaged 1.3 blocks (97 percentile) and 1.2 steals!

Coach Sam set this visit up last week..so yes, it is fair to make this statement. It also shows how high of an interest the player has in the Tennessee program as a whole to still want to visit and continue to build relationships with Coach Kim and her staff.

Funny how this is the stance when it relates to Coach Caldwell, why can't the previous staff get credit for laying the foundation and the new staff get credit for sealing the deal. Kellie can't take credit for the 4 consecutive 1st round picks because 3 were recruited by Hollie and one was ready made according to some by Vic, but Coach Caldwell can take credit for Jewell deciding to stay as well as others, and if she lands any of the players Coach Sam and Kellie have already built relationships with.

Both Kellie and Kim can get credit should any recruit previously recruited under the old regime decide to come here.

MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!

Really going for run the floor athletes as this player had a 1.24 scoring efficiency last season. She is a poor free throw shooter 52 percent. Both Spearman and Latham are athletic and can run the floor with the best of them.

Might be naive but I try to just take things at face value with no underlying bad intentions. I may miss some digs or slights, but it makes life more pleasant and is probably why I still (humble brag) have no gray hairs.

We’ve gotten so much great news this week from staffing to visits that I can’t imagine letting Maria and some phrasing spoil my joy 🥹

Guess you could line up these kind of inside players and have exactly what you want to shoot 30 threes a game. A lot of offensive rebounding potential and putbacks on misses. Add these two with Jill that is about as athletic as it gets. They just need to improve their free throw shooting Latham 63 and Spearman 52

The previous staff did very well in the portal, were outbid for high school players.
