I've said it time and again that people there is no means test and some of these people hadn't paid in years when they counted covid non payment months as payment toward the 10 years of payments. This is an direct abuse of power from the Biden Politburo.

That is my biggest issue here. We had two or three years of no interest period in this. It is my understanding that 1) 10 years of payments are the baseline of what qualifies, and 2) interest is what is supposed to cover the cost of serving those loans. So what we're doing instead is dodging the intent of the 10 years rule, which is pretty much BS anyway, and not charging irresponsible, greedy individuals for the very basic task of dealing with their loan in the first place.

All the way around this student loan forgiveness mess is idiotic. The deal has been broken over and over- none of these people have 10 years of payments.
