2024 Presidential Race

52% of graduates were “underemployed” in food service, hospitality, retail sales, office administration and other fields a year after earning a bachelor's degree.

Bachelors degree to flip burgers and make coffee...

I understand that the uneducated like to downplay the value of a college degree.

It’s not as simple as a college degree.
With things like loans and lottery money flooding the system, colleges started selling degrees in fields where there was no employment available. A college degree in a saturated field is absolutely worthless.

At first I was angry at the gangster for committing numerous crimes, then getting indicted for them, and now facing multiple trials for his illegal
behavior. But then I realized, after listening to the gangster, that like jesus, he's suffering FOR US. It's moving. He's fighting these
terrible accusations and charges FOR US, so that, one day, WE can commit bank fraud, assault and then slander women,
pay off porn strumpets and lie about it, steal classified documents and lie about them, incite riots against our governments,
and spew lies to damage our democracy--and try to avoid accountability for such actions. When I thought about HIS suffering, I almost teared up. It's poignant. But the gangster doesn't cry, because doing so would make his spray tan run and look as ridiculous at Rudy G's hair dye running down his face, and so I'm going to stay strong, too. For Him.

Spin it however you like: People with college degrees do much better than those without. Of course that's not to say that everybody with a college degree does well and makes a lot of money: I know people with degrees, smart people, who've not done that well--owing to their own job decisions, lack of ambition, working for small, crappy family firms, divorces, other issues. But I know many more people who've done well or extremely well. And of course there are many people without college degrees who do well enough--or even extremely well if they're, say digital wizards--see the founders of Microsoft and Facebook. It's not solely about getting a better job: it's also expanding and broadening your mind, learning how to think and analyze information, becoming a more polished and civilized individual. PLUS: if you got to college, you'll HAVE to learn how to spell a small word that means 'additionally'---"too." A word that I've seen botched a hundred times on these boards!

I’m sorry but reading your posts leads me to disagree with you about going to college teaches a person to think and analyze information. Definitely disagree that it makes a person more polished.

It really depends on the class, professor, and school. Some professors just suck and one issue that I have with Higher Education is professors are more graded by their ability to write thesis or how they performed back when they were in school but that doesn't, necessarily, translate to great teaching.

I do think people give two much credit to professors radicalizing college students. I don't think it is the professors and teachers that radicalize your kids, I think it is their fellow peers that often do it. That seems to be lost in the discourse.

Biden trying to thread the needle. He needs to keep his Jewish support but also needs the Terrorist supporting Muslim vote in swing states. Interesting that these protesters shout Death to America and Death to Israel at rallies in the USA and the media rarely covers it. The media and Dems try to label the protesters as peace activists even while they shout Death to America and publicly cheer when Iran attacks Israel.

Rubio accuses Biden of leaking Netanyahu call to appease anti-Israel activists: 'Game they are playing'

Honest question, How old are you?

Per The Donald after his trial stuff today:

"Crooked Joe Biden is building the most sophisticated censorship and information control apparatus in the world to crush free speech in America," the campaign alleges. "Joe Biden and the Deep State are weaponizing government agencies designed to protect our country against foreign threats in order to systematically censor the lawful speech of American citizens."

"Journalists who raised questions about the unconstitutional vaccine mandates were de-platformed from social media at the request of the Biden Administration," the campaign added. Biden administration officials pressured Big Tech companies to 'stop allowing' Americans to question the Administration’s climate change narrative and Green New Deal agenda."

Can you explain the value of 100k (debt) for a degree for a more then 50% chance of getting a job at the same level of a person with GED could get?
Lots of degrees provide earnings similar to a plumber or electrician, but with earnings delayed by 4 years and lots of debt added. Some degrees are definitely worth the effort and expense. Not all degrees are the same. The very general statements of value seem harmful to me.
