Tells me a lot about CKCs leadership. Not afraid to keep some of the old guard tells me she’s confident in her ability as a leader.

Sam been is this business a long time and is good at job recruiting. A see from her times not only here but other places she’s been lots of experience and connections in the game. I don’t it was her fault that we didn’t land a lot of the highly rated players it was the closer. Don’t think Joy stays because I think her relationship with Kellie will hinder her, you could tell that they were closer it seems. Really just guessing on the Joy part

I understand wanting your own staff, but waiting a week and letting it drop that she was let go as she’s flying to be with a high profile grad from your program is certainly a choice! You could have controlled the narrative, but instead Ball Out Sports of all things is breaking the news in an inflammatory way

She better get at it! I don't care who she fires and who she hires I want results. I have yet to see anything promising. I'm anxious to see if she has hired a proven assistant for this level or if she is just winging it. Hoping for news this week about some recruiting visits.

The assistants leaving is expected but worrisome this late in the portal.

Coach Sam has now changed her twitter profile. Coach Joy still has Assistant Coach at University of Tennessee. I guess we will see if it lasts.

I’m sure everyone would be very normal and chill about a head coach with one year of D1 experience being both head coach and recruiting coordinator lol.

Well idk forsure, buy the relationships she had with HS and portal players could have helped. Idc who she hires, but imo she just put herself behind the 8 ball in recruiting. Time will tell if she can get it done.

Can we just try to get behind the new regime and be positive and supportive while their may be young eyes cruising by all the Lady Vol-related talk spaces looking to see what the base is like? Do we REALLY have to paint such a freaking pessimistic picture? I mean, right now, in this extremely crucial point for the program??? Can't we try to press pause on the p!ssiness for just a couple of damn weeks?

No thank you. It was a dumb hire and y’all are going to have to put me on ignore! I still love yall though. Can’t even fake it. I’ve tried reading and re-reading all the early supports’ post, but they just aren’t making alot of sense to me. I can’t find anything to be excited about.

The worst a new leader can do is come and do stuff halfway. If you are wanting to establish a new culture, style of play, loyalties etc. you can't keep the old guard around. The assumption is that Sam might have helped in the portal but even if true, the short term gains may not be worth the long term costs.

I suspect the players CKC brings are going to seen as underwhelming by the fan base. She ain't getting a Kiki right now so they will be probably be athletic, mid major types that the new system and philosophy.

CKC probably waited a bit to make this change because everything was such a whirlwind and she needed to get a few things in place. Kinda surprises a similar news has not dropped about Joy but I would expect it to be coming soon.

Update: Brooks dad posted his unhappiness about this move so i think we can assume the Nyla ship has now sailed.

Obviously, CKC has a vision now time will tell...
