She a good mid range shooter not a three point shooter just 26 percent for all the time she has played. She has one year if she comes back we better make all the rest two year players with just three players on the roster in 2025.

Great great at driving and kicking out to shooters but she can also finish with her size, strength and quickness.

Our new coach is, rightfully, not into low percentage mid-range shots.

I hope that is not the path Coach Caldwell follows. Let me ask you. did you notice a difference between Kaiya Wynn and Rickea Jackson? And again nothing against Wynn, she has had a nice improvement curve going and made some big plays this season but she would be at the upper echelon of players at Marshall caliber schools. That caliber of player can be a fine role player but you don't win in the SEC with that level of talent. People often fail to appreciate the talent gulf, such a those who boldly predicted Edie Darby would be our starting PG by the end of her sophomore season. The odds are stacked against such players breaking through. Dalton Knecht was the exception who proved the rule.

As CJ noted, Kellie brought a transfer from Missouri St. with her and even Kellie could not put her on the floor for more than a minute.

I feel confident that Coach Caldwell needs 2 or 3 transfers who at least are at the Spear level of the talent hierarchy. One project player out of four would be fine. Four project players, not so much.

UConn has two girls in the portal as of today: Inis Betancourt, and 6’5” Amari DeBerry, neither played very much. This opens up two scholarships in the event they wish to add somebody at a later date.

Her portal class will tell me a lot about her ability to judge talent and meet needs of a team. Post players at least two and one hybrid 3-4 and then you can go for two perimeter players may need a point guard depending on where she thinks Cooper and Boyd can play or when they can play.

DeBerry is a mystery one of the highest ranked players in a Hoopgurlz class and she has done virtually nothing at UConn.

I could see maybe taking one or so but even then I’m not sure. I half jokingly said we’ll have her Marshall players filling out our roster. I really hope that isn’t the case.

Her parents were also starting fights online with other parents. They called out other players on the team. It isn’t just the Subarus that don’t want them unless the parents stay out of it.
