Lance Heard looks like an SEC offensive tackle. John Campbell was flipped over to the right side and Trevor Duncan was with the offensive tackles today
Cam Seldon looked focused, poised to take advantage of the next month to get better
DK needs to have a solid game and does have to be consistent for this team to advance far. However, NC State, Ole Miss, at UK, and at Bama were games where he had 16 points or less, and we won. The role players can do it, but consistency has been the issue. DK had 2 points against NC State, and we scored 79 points. We need Aidoo, ZZ, and JJJ just to be solid.I don't recall a UT basketball team whose fortunes depended so heavily on one player. Maybe the early-80s teams with Dale Ellis. The Allan Houston teams weren't good enough to matter. I wasn't around for the Ernie and Bernie teams.
If Knecht has a mediocre game, the Vols are toast against most good teams. If he strings together 6 great games -- which he's done this year -- UT has a good a chance as anybody to win it all. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground. Nobody else has proven they can carry this team. They are all complimentary pieces to him.
I'm honestly not all that concerned. We actually finished the regular season very well beating all the strong teams on the last part of our schedule...until..I am renewing my optimism for the basketvols. I don't think closing the way we did was a good thing, but if they use it to address issues it can be. I want them to regain confidence and knock down shots when it matters.
