Who said it, and what was their argument?Announcer calling our team fools gold really pissed me off. I am thinking it's a CBS signal that Arizona is going to be the one seed. IMO, If our guys play defense with the intensity that they did the last few minutes of that game, we should go far in NCAA--- even if our offense is quite a bit of Dalton Knecht.
None of the 2 seeds are in the same tier as UCONN, Purdue, Houston. It matters a lot. Maybe in other years it didn't, but those 3 are clearly better than all the other 2 seeds. If that's the case, then yes 1 vs 2 matters somewhat, mostly because of playing anyone but Zona for a FF...assuming the 1...and we...make it there.
Otherwise, not a big difference. I've seen some 7/10s I'd rather face than 8/9s.
But the novelty for us would be nice. And accolade.
Man that would be a great setup for us.View attachment 626066

GO VOLS
Houston and UCONN are really dangerous teams. Purdue is more or less Edey with a lot of officiating bias. Good team but those other two will absolutely take our A game to beat.None of the 2 seeds are in the same tier as UCONN, Purdue, Houston. It matters a lot. Fair point. Ofc we may never see them, but yes you don't want to play those odds.None of the 2 seeds are in the same tier as UCONN, Purdue, Houston. It matters a lot. Maybe in other years it didn't, but those 3 are clearly better than all the other 2 seeds.
We have lost those games because santi and JJJ were no shows, we are at our best when they are doing better on offenseLady Vols ending...far more disappointing than losing to Kentucky on senior night.
I mean I wanted the Vols to win, DK sure had a hell of a game...but the rest of the team didn't seem very engaged on offense until it was too little too late. Feel bad Santi's last game in TBA he scores 0 on 0-5 shooting, that was the hardest part. But being part of the SECT championship team and an outright SEC Regular season title will be his lasting legacy, not one game. I really would love our first Final Four for this team because coach Barnes and this group of men deserve it.
As great as DK is we have lost 3 games where he scored 30 or more. Not sure what happens with the rest of the team...it's like they just stop trying or something.
Aidoo has been on a tear...so I won't harp on him much. He has averaged 14.6 points these last 8 games. But JJJ & Santi play way too many minutes to give us nights where they score 0 or 2 or 4. Final Four means 3 or 4 guys need to be scoring 10+ every night.
I agree. If we make it to the Final 4 (I’m hoping we do), and run up against Houston or UCONN, we’d likely need a 30+ point performance from DK and 3 players in the 15pt range to back him up. I could see Aidoo, ZZ being 2 of them, but we are at our best when JJJ can get 10-15, along with them.Lady Vols ending...far more disappointing than losing to Kentucky on senior night.

Huh. They seem like the last people that would say that.Seth Davis
He had talked to SEC coaches and said they said TN was fool's gold. My guess was he talked to Nate Oates, Lamont Paris, and Nick Saban.
