I hope the opposite of what normally happens to us happens in the tournament. Seems like our best shooters (sometimes the entire team) inexplicably go ice cold at some point in the tournament. Hopefully our guys who've been in a slight slump catch fire at the right time. Would love for a bench guy to save our arse if/when one of our main dudes is off.Speaking of Gainey...dang I wish he would remember how to shoot...he gets so many open shots.
Alabama was gassed the last 8 minutes. Vols got to the loose balls, were more active, and didn’t fade at all. If anything, the Vols poured on more steam to close it out. It was great.Post mortem on Bama. I’ve watched them play 4-5 times this year. They played the toughest defense I have seen them play last night and still gave up 80+. On top of that, they just can’t score at their elite level if they are trying to also play even moderately acceptable defense.
They have the makings of a 3 or 4 seed that goes out to a hot shooting 14 or 13 seed in the first round. And if they do survive the first round, I think a 5 or 6 takes them out on a neutral court.
She is amazing but men and women’s basketball are two entirely different sports.
Different weight classes and different equipment…. women play with a youth basketball so the shots are different as well. Not different sports but different weight classes. Somewhat like comparing light and heavy weight boxing. It's all boxing but there are differences. Some things compare well between them but some don't. On something like scoring in basketball, it's a comparable record - a shot is a shot and both are playing against opponents in their weight class. Pete did it in a shorter time frame by taking a billion shots a game with his dad as coach. Clark has done it with 3 pointer over a longer time frame, playing in a weak conference (of course, the SEC men's side wasn't exactly super strong in Pete's time but it was light years away from the competition you get today).
