I was wondering where this Gyro Drop ride was, so I googled it. I got this story (and other similar stories). This video was digitally altered.

Another story about it for the science nerds out there.

Just from that video, its pretty obvious it was digitally altered tbh

A decent point brought up on TOS about being a 1 seed out west vs a 2 seed in the south

That said, if we're #2 in the South...our EE matchup is most likely vs Houston.

As compared to Zona out west...much more beatable team imo on a neutral, even if out west. Zona also more likely to not even make it there, as opposed to Houston who's on a tear.

Just imo. What do y'all think?
I think stuff is going to get a little wonky down the stretch. I also think we can beat both of those teams. Houston is tough, but they've also just barely held on with some buzzer beaters and OT lately. (TBF - they're still finding ways to win and that matters).

As a 1 Seed idk if its cut and dry that we'd get stuck out West but idk. I can also see them putting Houston as West and Tennessee as South. Lunardi thinks Purdue will be the #1 overall team and not Houston. So I don't think Houston gets first dibs.

Also, if we aren't the 4th 1-seed then I think we've worked to be the 1st 2-seed which would put us with AZ in the West anyway based on the idealized ranking scenario. They want the top 16 ranked teams to equal 34 score in each bracket which is ideally 4+5+12+13 for that one. Lunardi's current bracket assumed we'd drop some games and not be #5. Presumably he expected us to be 6 or 7 (because he has Purdue as his top overall seed and not Houston). I think at this point, at worst, we are the 6th ranked team.

1. Does Bilas even hear himself when he is that biased? Seriously... I watched the game again this morning and his mindset and play by play was literally 100% bama based on what they can do, what they need to do, how great their players are, how great oates is, and begrudgingly gives UT credit from time to time throughout the game because he knows he has too... Someone at that level, you would think they would know and hear themselves... can't believe he still is so butthurt over us whipping his dukies last year... grow up and get over it ya baby.

Last night twitter/X was going off on bilas and his clear bias...

2. What are the chances Pat calls the SC game?

This is the recruiting forum. There is no recruiting forum in the basketball section. So, I thought most appropriate to put here.
Yeah, but this is only football recruiting. Basketball forum discusses basketball recruiting. Baseball discusses baseball. Etc. We should clarify but I didn't name it.

March 3, 1979
The Tennessee Volunteers won the tournament championship game, and received the SEC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by beating the Kentucky Wildcats in a 75–69 overtime win on March 3, 1979.
After Tennessee took a 55-53 lead, the two teams would combine to score just two points the final 8:56 of regulation.

The Vols jumped out to a six-point lead less than two minutes into the extra period and went on to a 75-69 win.
The tournament took place from February 28 to March 3, 1979. After the SEC tournament ended, Tennessee was ranked number 20 in the Associated Press polls.

Go back before the last 3 and they were in the 70s and 80s for a streak.

We'll see if they can really keep it going 4...5...games.

Hopefully not if TBA has anything to do with it. We want that sweeeeep
Jeez..I know that Devo...I literally said "Unconscious as a team LATELY"...are you just wanting to argue with me or what?

My hope is that are due for a cold spell...it is almost impossible to shoot THAT well as a TEAM for more than 3-4 games before having an off night.

They will be absolutely JACKED to get revenge Saturday and wanting to knock us off the #1 seed in the Dance and out of the SEC season title...I hope they get too jacked up and implode if/when they miss a few.

I've still got goosebumps. What a win. Wow.

I know there's so much unpredictability in basketball, that all it takes in the tournament is one off game or the other team just playing out of their minds and it's over, but this team...well, there's an awful lot of potential.
It's always a mixture of hard work and luck...that is why I don't sweat it too much, it is just too much of a crapshoot to get too confident...especially in this age of parity.

We have a really good team...but so does a whole bunch of other schools.

If we were to win or just make the F4...unlike what the idiots here think...it won't magically make Rick Barnes a better coach and program builder/sustainer than he always has been...I will always love him for what he has done here.

He has zero control of multiple important guys going cold, or of running into a buzzsaw team on a rip....or 💩ty refs that completely destroy the way we play defense by calling tick tack fouls non-stop.
