But you can attempt to fix it, or they can just put their heads in the sand. It’s like the conferences don’t care about it. Frankly, it’s about money, and they don’t want to spend it.
Not exactly locked up, but he for sure has a big lead according to betting sites. And why exactly is the national POY already locked up to Edey??
No, that was in the second half. That helped propel them to where they took the lead.I can't remember if it was earlier in the game, but he complained to official Steven Anderson after they called a foul on them. The next possession, Anderson called two picky, picky fouls on us. He was trying to play head games.
The tech will miss the nuances of the game, no matter the sport. Yes, we can assume the calls will be fair, right down the line, based on the rules of the sport (and, that would be awesome); but, those little things...the legal beating and banging down low in BBall, or a slightly generous corner in Baseball, or maybe the handfighting b/t WR and DB...tech would be hard to program for the little intricacies that are staples of each sport. I want a fair game called, no doubt; but, I don't want a foul called on every little hand check or bump; a holding call on every single play; a ball called because it was off the corner by an eye lash.I agree. No sport ever really has tried to fix the real problem. Baseball is just now coming around to the idea of letting go of balls and strikes via umps.
I agree it would take some serious capital to get it off the ground, but they'd save in the long run.
But the tech has to catch up too...and needs said investments into it.

Humans know those nuances. Humans know the difference between pass interference and handfighting down the field. Humans can get better at officiating a game the same way players and coaches get better; the same way anyone gets better at something...practice practice practice...then, some more practice. Full-time officials, umpires, referees...that are held accountable for the game they just called, that answer questions from the press about the game they just called (just like players and coaches), that are punished for poor performance/incentives for quality performance. Make it a year round job, a career. The main thing being...ACCOUNTABILITY.
I wouldn't be completely against tech; but, as I said, those little things that make sports what they are, they would be lost, imo. I don't want that.
When Knecht pulls up for a deep 3, with his frame, movement, and all, tell me that ain't Durantula pulling up for a 40 footerIf serious, you've lost your fk-ing mind.
I'm not disputing that, yes, it can learn some of the nuances; but, you know as well as I do, there's some of those tiny details in each sport...you think the tech can pick up on it?This has already been well figured out for decades in comp sci, ai, etc.
It's machine learning. You adapt the system on what to let pass and whistle by teaching it.
