Recruiting Football Talk VII

Do you think she survives if the worse happens and we miss the tournament?
I think it's a moot point because the season is almost over, the LVs are in the field and have the #2 SOS with a chance to boost their resume playing ranked teams. I'm not saying they're a good team, but they're in the bracket and just moved up in seeding.

Just thought of something pretty sad.

We'll quite possibly only get NCAA Football for 1 year.

Very likely not another one after that.

The LVs are probably in this year. But I definitely think it'll be a wide-open search and UT will go outside the program when they're ready to make a change.
The measuring stick for the LV basketball program is winning championships, not slipping into the tournament. It’s not stability keeping around a lame duck coach, because recruits know it’s only a matter of time, if the administration wants to actually win.

Bothers me that the measuring stick for LV success is anywhere close to “made the tournament”. Digging that hole deeper.
I don't think that's the measuring stick-- though some would be happy with that for MBB, as well. The LVs have been down for a while, and many people have contributed to that. It won't be an insta-fix like some think. But it's going to have to be fixed.

Markette could have a tough game vs Providence tonight. . . hmm, unless I'm confusing Presbyterian for Providence

Creighton v Seton Hall might be another good one. Seton Hall was tough last year.

IMO the right coach would absolutely be an insta-fix. If Heupel can win 11 games year 2 in football, the right coach could come in and be highly competitive in women’s basketball by year 2, if not year one. Much easier to flip a basketball team. The longer they wait, the more the Lady Vols name loses its luster.

And the program would make more money if it’s winning at a high level again.

Question is how important is it to the administration to win at a high level in women’s basketball. Doesn’t seem like it’s very important, and it’s a shame to treat coach Summit’s legacy like that.

It has floundered too long already. Imo

Help! Help!

Me and the wife just had a nice little lunch at a place called mama's kitchen. We leave and she darts to the driver side door, gets in with a crazed look in her eyes...

She's hijacked the car, kidnapped me and is taking me to the thrift store 🥺

I may be there for days, years, centuries...a purgatory built for NO MAN.

Pray for me.
Blink twice if you in danger.
Hate it when they do that shizzit.

No argument from me-- it has gone on much too long, and it's a shame. But it will have to be ground-zeroed now-- new coach, new staff, new players-- to return to anywhere near elite.
