2024 Presidential Race

I'd be unhappy if I were a Democrat voter that the entire process of candidate selection was discarded and they simply made a selection for everyone. It comes across as "Here's who we're telling you to vote for. You get no say and you'll like it."

Certainly wouldn't increase my enthusiasm.
No you wouldn't, because democrats vote how the party tells them to. Besides, their unfettered hatred of Orange Man will drive them to vote for whatever chimpanzee they put up.

Newsome would go over like a lead ballon in middle america.
They don't care. Nowhere in middle America will win/lose the election. Not enough votes there to sway it either way. They probably won't campaign anywhere but the cities anyway.

How is it any different than what has been going on for decades?

I think you can point back to 2016 and 2020 and see some shady stuff, but if he were to be replaced at the convention there would be no hiding it.

What surprises me most is nobody that I know has said, “Wait a minute, this is not good for the people of the party.” Nobody seems to care. It’s really strange to me.

2008 was shady AF also. No way Obama wins that primary without Hillary being forced to step aside.

But maybe we should go back to the delegates picking the candidates at the convention, seems like its been pretty downhill ever since both parties adopted the primary system.

There was a time when I might have agreed with you. I don’t trust most people in politics and that includes delegates. Seems to me it will guarantee the perpetual uniparty. But I’m open to have my mind changed.

Ok, even better. Let each state party hold a caucus to elect delegates to the national conventions.

historians suffer from tds...historians lie too

I've never truly thought about private school for my kids because I've never felt I could afford it but more and more I think about a private school education. The propaganda and subpar education being provided in the public school system is concerning.

Have you been experiencing propaganda at your kids' public schools?

“There is both financial harm and psychological harm of being in debt for decades, especially when it feels like there is no hope that it will ever be repaid,” said Persis Yu, deputy executive director at the Student Borrower Protection Center.
