I know quite a few here enjoy climbing docs.

Just found a Hulu show (3 or 4 episodes) called Arctic Ascent. Features Alex Honnold climbing an absolute beast of a face in remote Greenland.

Good stuff.

What % of celebrated GA and BAMA OL and DL high star signees DON'T make NFL rosters?

5 and high 4 star guys make me happy, but not cocky on signing day. Odds are a bit better, BUT....... Lower star guys targeted early and pursued consistently by our staff excite me as well. Even some apparent projects do also. So bottom line, establishing a crucial list is a bit of negative posturing I think we can all live without. With NIL and immediate portal solutions it is a crap shoot for sure. Winning on signing day may only get you a development year and a chance to wave at them as they go out the door. Roster management, not recruiting is the driver now. Having the roster spots and the money to entice the service misses down the hierarchy of football after a year or two seems to be where MOST are headed.

While star ratings are overblown, they are meant to favor those who have the physical tools more often than not. And OT you gotta have the length, flexibility, athleticism, long arms, etc before you even get to the talent part so quote unquote rankings do hold a little more weight with OTs imo

Note the added twist he threw in. He literally let go of the ball mid flight, regained it, then still did a 2 handed behind the head dunk.

Not in practice, but as one of his few attempts in the slam dunk contest. Risky move. Paid off. It's tough to be original these days, but he pulled it off.

Watching Micheal and Dominique go head to head was great to watch.

Tbf the biggest names at this moment aren't spiderman dunkers.

Luka...Embiid...Jokic...maybe they could bring something, but they're not exciting dunk artists by any means lol.

Giannis could be interesting, but he's not a Vince Carter either.

Wembanyama...that's just cheating.

Spud, VC, Dominique weren't the best of their times either. If you look at the history of the contest, the MJ and Kobe wins are the small minority. It's mostly niche players - let's not forget Nate Robinson.


I see the Kobe or MJ pull, but that was the anomaly. I'm fine with the best dunkers that are passionate about it showing up.

NBA fans aren't interested in seeing Jaime Jaquez or Jacob Toppin in a dunk contest.

Best competition last night honestly was Steph vs Sabrina in 3 point contest for charity.

Tonight's Game will be nothing but a non defensive crap show ..

Mass streaming options, NBA...MLB...NFL passes, etc have made it so you can see all the biggest stars any given day play each other. The shine isn't there like a couple decades ago when viewing options were so limited.

Ofc the NFL version is more like flag football. Those guys aren't risking serious injury for a day of larping as a football player.

MLB All-Star game is very watchable each year.
Especially when the winner got home field advantage in World Series.

If they can make amazing dunks, then they will. But as losers, sure.

I do like the 3 pt contests.

Don't really watch the all star game, except the 4th Q. Then they start taking it personally.

To each their own, just talking overall demos. All all-star games have died off over time. They all started off as something unique, the sheen began to wear off, and finally more television options made it less unique to see all the stars playing.
