AA has never been and will never be a big FA spender. Y’all want the guy to be something he’s not.

It does stink, and he does give too much money to relief options, but his method of acquisition has also worked!

He won with inherited players and the most absolutely lucky bender of mid tier acquisitions all smashing simultaneously.

He has a golden ticket in his pocket but he refuses to cash it because he absolutely refuses to spend almost ANY cash let alone “big spending” and his stance on FA relievers is so hilariously terrible and counter to his motive it has to be a troll lol

Also trading William Contreras should’ve got him prosecuted in a court of law. Capital and prospects on a lesser player!! WHO DOES THAT

There’s a world where the Braves say “Hey what are we doing here? It’s Freddie give him the 6th year” and then Pache/Langeliers/Cusick gets you Luis Castillo. I love Matt Olson but the Braves are a better team the past two years with Freddie/Castillo instead of just Olson.


He’s good at the margins. He’s awesome at the one year deal. He’s been a + at the deadline and he builds a good pen. But some of the conservative/stinginess at the lack of being aggressive is infuriating. The way he approaches SP is absolutely mind boggling. And we are in year 7 of his tenure and he’s produced three MLB players so far from his farm system. He’s overall a good GM but man it can be infuriating.

I do not disagree with you.

The fact remains, he doesn’t spend and he wins. The alternative is not having AA and that’s the less desirable option.
