Has there been anything put out there as to why Chip Kelly is doing this? Tired of being a HC is honestly the only thing I can see as a somewhat reasonable excuse. But even then, it’s February. I feel like that’s a decision you make back in November or December.
If only getting the can if you don’t turn around a program and knowing you can’t was a thing 🤔.

That’s wild that she is that loyal to them and you view them wholesale the opposite way. Unfortunately, would appear it is a growing issue across the country (the state of our primary education system).
I argued for years that we never saw any reason we were wasting money on the dues. Her argument was that that negotiated a great insurance deal. Her insurance was better than mine for about the first 10 years we were married but it fell off too and way always a good bit more expensive than mine. The other benefit she talked about was Horace Mann giving teachers a big discount on homeowners and auto insurance. It seemed like a decent rate until the first time we had an actual claim. Their adjuster tried to rip us off as well as the contractor who did the repair. He had to threaten to sue us before that would pay him. Pure trash.

It's going to always be this way with them from now on...they are obviously going to buy championships no matter how high the cost...and unlike us they have the resources to do it year after year after year.

Since American football is kind of similar to warfare, this could be a test case for a theory that has long been debated by military thinkers. Which is superior in a brutal conflict; trained mercenaries or unseasoned troops who are loyal to the cause? I'd lean toward more loyalists with a few talented mercenaries to fill the gaps, but it'll be interesting to see how this works out over time. Will the mercenaries stand fast when times get rough? Will the loyalists feel the same allegiance when fighting next to highly paid non-believers?

You have to realize how hilarious this take is coming from a Georgia fan. I'm sure you believe those Kirby recruiting classes were all on the up and up, which makes it even funnier, IMO. I mean, sure, Amarius Mims turned down money from multiple schools to go to Georgia. Same with Darnell Washington. You're an okay dude for a pup fan, but you have to know Georgia was shelling out money before shelling out money was allowed. Yet the eye of the NCAA never fell upon you.

Wow, congrats to Jerry Mack. Earned this promotion. I seem to remember many considering him to be a weak link when the staff was formed. Fairly unproven at the time.

The production we got out of Small, Wright, Evans, and Sampson under his tutelage has been impressive. Each grew and got better. The NFL must really consider his technical coaching to be top-notch. This looks really good for Tennessee too imo. We're developing athletes AND coaches.
There were a lot of people on here who didn't like that move when he was hired. I think he proved a lot of people wrong.

I was one of them. I had no idea who he was. Had to google him just like I did with Heupel. And as usual, I was proven wrong big time. If Mack does move on I wish him nothing but the best. I hope he gets a head coaching job in the NFL one day (if he wants that).
