They will try to avoid this injunction by doing nothing now...and then they will rule Nico ineligible on Aug 30th...that is how these evil putrid soulless scum roll.If I’m understanding irreparable harm correctly, if they attempt to suspend Nico, that actually works very well in our favor. At that point, both the university and Nico have an argument for irreparable harm because they’re being directly impact outside of monetary fines. Plus, I think at the point Donde and White would give the NCAA two of these if they even breathed that towards us:![]()
Well, he does have a Purdy mouth.
The ending of your posts is pretty much what I have been saying would happen ever since the Supreme Court ruling. The most likely way to achieve that, IMO, is via the NFL route; antitrust exemption, draft, collective bargaining, salary caps, etc. Those things probably aren't feasible because of the 3-4 yr eligibility window, requirement for inclusion and equity for all college athletes, public and private universities trying to operate all these boondoggles. I expect we'll flail about until the whole thing collapses under the weight of corruption, poor management, and govt interference. Then something new will arise from the ashes. That's pretty much the unchanging cycle of any human endeavor.
So, does this TRO being denied mean we are about to get absolutely boned by the NCAA and we might as well start looking for a new hobby? What does this mean?
It's not the desired result, no one can deny that. However, the judge said our case has merit and believes we'll be successful based on the evidence provided.TRO is denied. This is not a positive.
Man - your memory is incredibly sharp given that cocktail. In my younger years, I would have gaps in my memories if I smoked weed and drank on the same night (so I stopped smoking). Wild how different folks’ brains work.Wow...that sucks...I was stoned on pot, drinking, had smoked some crystal and tripping on several hits of LSD....everything kind of turned to liquid if you know what I mean. I do remember it all though...we left the show and went to a huge club downtown and I literally walked right into Ron Gant while going to get some drinks..he was super cool about it though.
I think if you do a revenue share that is dictated by an administrative body, you can still work under title 9. Nil, which should be market based valuation, then allows those that can demand top $$, can still get top $$. And you wouldn't necessarily need collective bargaining because of title 9. Everybody wins.... Money earned by the schools from tv deals and post season gets distributed back to the athletes, nil allows additional opportunities for those that are able. Over simplified, sure. But I think that's a place you can work from. ADs could then use booster money for facilities etc..The ending of your posts is pretty much what I have been saying would happen ever since the Supreme Court ruling.
A CBA could work and IMO is feasible..and revenue sharing based on worth will take care of the equity problems. The fact is..a QB gets more than a Center for obvious reasons if you know what I mean...you can translate idea that to every open position across all the different sports.
But I agree, thanks to selfishness and greed on all sides, that will never happen and College sports will be ruined forever...which is what I've been saying since NIL was first opened up by the Supreme Court.
The tsunami is already on it's way, right now it is far out to sea...but it is surely and silently coming...and you don't see it until it's too late.
That is depressing to me.
College basketball = skitzo.
You literally can't get mad at a single result. It's happening to everyone not named UConn and Purdue.
This year is wide open.
I dont listen to them because they never have a thing to say all week after a win and a strong performance. . . but the first time we're down by 5+ or have a couple turnovers or a bad penalty, they pop up and act like we havent won a game for years. This is why I don’t listen to the “Fire Barnes” crowd - there’s unbelievable parity in basketball and Barnes has done extremely well navigating it in his time at Tennessee
