I respectfully disagree. If we don’t get the injunction, and then the NCAA aggressively goes after Nico, and UT, while the case is pending,we would renew our request for the injunction, and in my opinion, have it granted because it would be irreparable harm to punish the athlete as far as eligibility and the institution while the case is pending. That’s not just about money.
My thoughts exactly. For Nico it would be more than monetary; it would be the experience of playing, chance at a Heisman, film for NFL grade, etc...

I would love it if both sides agreed on not pressing things forward as long as the NCAA agrees not to retroactively enforce and penalize things, basically say “ok these are the rules, anything broken after today is game on” type of thing
Me too. I don’t think that’s gonna happen, though.

But from the AA’s lawyers perspective, they are probably telling their client: “Hey, we’re in here telling this judge there’s no imminent harm in this case, and he’s buying it. If you go out and immediately start trying to hand out sanctions and deny eligibility in response to that, it’s gonna look bad on us, and really bad on you, and the judge is going to think we lied to him. And we got other cases besides this one to think about.”

Will be interested to see when the NCAA investigation shifts to Ole Miss since I'm sure they did everything legal to the letter to buy their latest portal class...

I procrastinated a LOT back in the day...I was young and thought I would see them or other bands some other time down the road.

I went to a lot of good shows and saw a lot of big bands and big solo artists..but I barely remember many of them because I was so wasted.

One thing I do remember is seeing Ted Nugent do Stranglehold when I was trippin really hard at Lakewood, and if you know the song it has this really groovy, really long guitar solo that Ted really rips it up on live...and they had all these dark purple and blue lights along with some blacklights come on while he was playing...I won't ever forget that..lol.
In actuality, you were at home watching a Smurf marathon on a good trip.

That's hilarious... I guess....

I got a couple of Ted's guitar picks when I was front and center at a show on his Intensities In Ten Cities tour (1981 I think) but I was so hammered, by about halfway through his show I ended up draped over the barricade, half unconscious. Security guy made me stand up and I somehow managed to fall backwards into that pressed-in crowd. All the way to the floor on my back, it's a wonder I didn't get crushed.

Anyway, I gave one of the picks to my cousin and kept the other, but one day my ***hole brother was playing guitar and ran out of picks and snagged my Nugent one, and by the time I noticed it missing he had worn the damn name off. I went apeshit.

Wow...that sucks...I was stoned on pot, drinking, had smoked some crystal and tripping on several hits of LSD....everything kind of turned to liquid if you know what I mean. I do remember it all though...we left the show and went to a huge club downtown and I literally walked right into Ron Gant while going to get some drinks..he was super cool about it though.

Numerous reasons and they snowballed. UT's over-cooperation in the Pruitt investigation took LOIC off the table and UT did not expect a Failure to Monitor. Tacking that on and raising the fine at the end was a blindside-- and it was unappreciated. UT agreed to the penalties to end it, but instead of ending it, the NCAA ramped up the NIL investigation they had been backstaging for months. They kept digging and digging, bringing other marquee programs and other coaches' recruiting violations into the investigation. They tied it all together to make a case for LOIC and threatened UT with that, claiming multiple L1 and L2 violations in multiple programs. They were coming after UT, they were coming after the revenue sports and they were coming after Nico.

Not only do these alleged L1 and L2 violations reflect negatively on coaches that UT thinks very highly of, LOIC reflects directly on Chancellor Plowman and AD Danny White. The Pruitt violations were not on them nor on coaches that run clean programs, but these newer allegations put the blame squarely on the current leadership, alleging that they do not have institutional control.

UT has made a huge investment in running everything "the right way," and the chancellor has investigated internally and believes UT has self-reported all violations. The NCAA's claims and the way they have gone about everything makes it personally and highly offensive. They're calling people's character and integrity into question, and the chancellor, AD and president have made it clear how they feel about that. UT will fight and it will fight hard.
We should hire seedy PIs to investigate individual high-ranking NCAA officials and dig up dirt we can use against them. Maybe the new President has a problem with hookers and blow?

Okay hear me out. I think UT is pizzed off and wants this pushed to further make the NCAA even more toothless. Which brings on the SEC and B10 joining together to form their ‘committee’. I don’t think there’s anyway going back and playing nice anymore. If I’m wrong, I’ll fully own it, but I don’t think I am. What is it you guys are always saying in recruiting, follow the bread crumbs. This crap has been well thought out and don’t tell me that no one was and are ready for today’s outcome.

Why apologize to @Glitch ? It's a known fact how horrible his game threads are and the terrible things they cause. I mean, that last one is why the NCAA is investigating us.
