Checked the American Airlines app from 3am until arriving at the airport at 6. Once here they decided to delay me 2 hours. Couldn't have told me that when I was getting ready at 4?
That would require them to have common sense and to care about their customers.

Not happening.

My grandpa was in his 20's and married my granny who was 13 at the time. They were married until his death and had 13 kids, 32 grandkids and only the good Lord knows how many there are now. I'm 46 and my mom was the 3rd youngest of the bunch.

May want to reword your last sentence. It sounds like your wife is from somewhere in your family tree… 🤔

I recall flying pre-9/11, was a fun & enjoyable experience. Nothing we can do about that. Assuredly they've made it as safe as can be. It really is the airlines squeezing every penny out of clients, much like a trip to Disney. You gotta do this, get this to do this, and then backflip to get this and save $50.

The Delta Sky Bar is the perfect example, as a lover of large crowds. My fave spot is in the corner, with headphones on. An attainable goal was to use miles, or Amex to gain access. Eff 1/1 now have to use this reserve card, with high annual fee.

No longer makes any sense. Bottom line is there used to be more flights. Now its a sardine can. Turnip, squeezed.

Yup - you nailed it. Pre and post 9/11 is a defining point in my experiences. Before it was a big deal to build up the points and I also had the AmEx for the purpose. When I retired I bought tickets with them one last time and said waved goodbye.

Pre 9/11 I could schedule return trips with Delta easily to get home through Atlanta. They had four or five flights in the afternoon. If a business meeting ran over, no problem, just reschedule and be flexible as it may be running 30-60 minutes late. After 9/11 they cut the flights to half that many and crammed every seat full. Flight would be delayed 1-2 hours if you were lucky and that crew from Minneapolis arrived at all to fly your plane. If they didn't they might find a few folks to fly it several hours later. So I always had to schedule their last red eye to get home at 1 AM - maybe. One time a co-worker and I gave up when they cancelled and grabbed a rental car to get home about an hour after we would have if the flight had happened at all. At no point in the process did they give us notice or assistance, much less compensate us for our inconveniece. We were just a bother to them. The exact opposite it had been before 9/11.

Glad I no longer have to deal with it. Feel for people who do and pray that it gets better someday.

Daytona 500 is in a few weeks.

Not many people enjoy stock car racing anymore unless you're a redneck like myself..

Beer, friends and car races on Sunday..plus a little side betting too..
Used to love it. Lived in NC for a while, those guys were crazy about it. Dont even know how the points work now. I heard there are 2-3 races in 1 now or something like that.

He played a lot of football @ Tennessee and we needed him since he was better than those who did not play. I thank him for being a Voll.
Some players make themselves impossible to like….. I’m glad he is gone…. He is a headache and now he is Kentucky’s headache….. Win/Win!!!

If I could find a fargin rental car in Atlanta, day of. I'd be happy as peaches.

Those red eye flights, dont exist. Period.

For a same day business trip from Tri to Nash, its either drive. Or, leave meetings early. Tri to NC WV, a very rural airport is almost non-existent.

Sorry if you are from WV. Ive driven that in a day. I do not enjoy staying overnight in WV.

It really is a lesson on learning 'how' to fly.

Stages it's stupid but I like watching the race..

Every race 7 friends come over and we put $50 each in a pot winner take all..

When Matt Kenseth won the championship without winning a single race , they decided to change the format..

Pre and post Covid was the bigger change for me. It seems almost all flights are delayed now due to “maintenance issues”. An airline employee told me that they just don’t have enough employees to handle the upkeep on the minor issues with the plane. I travel 3 weeks a month. Nowadays you just have to assume on days you fly that it will be an all day experience and plan accordingly.

I used to like alan kulwicki. . . then Mark Martin. . . i stopped watching a few years after Earnhardt died. They've changed too much for me. I like the dirt cars. You should check out Hunt the Front in youtube.
